My husband and I became a Disney Movie Club member this summer so that we could order movies for our little girl. The agreement terms were that we would purchase at least five disney movies within the next year. We have bought 4 movies to date. I noticed last month that a charge of $25.90 was made to Disney. I emailed Disney from their "Contact Us" link on the website. I have heard nothing. Today I looked at my bank statement and again there is another charge of $25.90 to Disney.

This time I called my bank and I sent another email to Disney refuting the charge. My bank gave me a number to call Disney at to talk to them about it. I called this number and I recieved (no suprise) the automated answering machine. I never got to talk to someone. The machine kept me on hold assuring me that a representative would be with me soon. After about 30 minutes I gave up.

My bank has closed for today so I will have to call them back as they suggested I do if I got no response. I tried to think of what I could do to figure out what the charges were for and then it dawned on me. I went to my personal profile and there was a link for past orders and there it was.

On Sep 8th the movie Springtime with Roo was ordered. Now you might think "Oh well they probably forgot they ordered the movie. "Well let me say this... that Disney's original offer to us was that if we joined the club we would get 3 free movies. Can you guess what one of the three was? It was Springtime with Roo which is also on the past order history. Now why would I order it twice, not to mention order only one movie when in the past I have ordered at least three at a time because I save on shipping charges. The second charge of $25.90 was for The Haunted Mansion starting Eddie Murphy (another single movie order I might add).

I saw this movie on cable and I didnt like it then nor do I like it now. I did not order this movie but yet there it is on the order history and it arrived today. I have put it back in the mail box and wrote return to sender. I did not open it. Please post on your website for people not to not place their credit card info in the hands of Walt Disney because Disney will use their info to order their products without the person's consent as they had done to me and my husband. Disney has stolen $51.80 from us.

I am going to try my best to get it back. I hear so much about Identity Theft and now this! It's hard to believe that Disney would (a reputable company or so I once thought) could do this to its customer's. Thank you

I too never odered mechandise from Disney Movie Club in Menasha WI P.O. Box 8023 Zip#54952-8023. However, mechandise did arrive and I was billed for it along with a monthly membership fee. I returned the mechandise as per the directions of a person answering the phone (#1-920-521-4015). I had the package tracked, so I know they received it at 9:05am Jan. 23, 2009 I shall pursue the mater tomorrow durring business hours, through several avenues. I will call the Disney Movie Club, USPS, and check with my credit card company. If no results are atained via these routes, I intend to use whatever measures are necessary to recoup all the charges these ripoff artists have made.

Thanks for the information about who the outsource vendor is, but ultimately Disney hired them and is still the responsible party for their vendors actions. Outsourcing doesn't absolve them of anything.

It isn't Disney who duped you, it's outsourced.

#7UPDATE EX-employee responds

What is more commonly known to the general public as Disney is actually a mid-sized, locally-owned company called Alta Resources. Disney pays Alta to take care of their order fulfillment and customer service. I am a former employee of the company, and if you have unauthorized charges to your card, it's likely your card number is being used by an employee. I would contact the company again, tell them you'd like to speak to a "team leader". If that doesn't work, I would call the corporate office and complain.
