DOLLAR CAR RENTAL - DENVER SHUTTLE FROM DENVER AIRPORT CAUTION: Big Time Bait & Switch, DAILY TOLL RD. CHARGES, REFILL CAR W/IN 10 MI. RECEIPT DENVER, Colorado
Caution if you have a DOLLAR rental car reservation at Denver Colo. This office tries everything to get the max money out of you. They wanted to charge us $10 a day *every day of our 21 day car rental FOR A DENVER TOLL ROAD FEE. We were only going to be in Colo. 2 days! The day we flew in and the day we were to fly back home. The rest of our trip was spent in Wyoming.
We were quoted a price for a std. size car rental, they said we had to accept a compact car if they had one for the same price. We were to have 4 adults in this vehicle most of the time and that is why we wanted a standard/full size rental vehicle.
They said if we didn't bring them a fuel receipt WITHIN 10 miles of their location, THEY WOULD CHARGE US A FULL TANK OF GAS AT $9 A GALLON. We did so, and no one asked for or looked at our LOCAL high priced gas receipt when we dropped the rental car off. There was 1 gas station close to the airport.
They wanted to charge us $10 more a day for the spouse to drive the rental car. Even though we told them we were both fully insured on our personal insurance policy. We declined at that cost. I felt like I had physically wrestled in a competition when I left their office.
A TERRIBLE CONSUMER EXPERIENCE. WE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS OF OUR VACATION AT THE CAR RENTAL OFFICE TRYING NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF.
We had no problems dropping off the rental car at the end of our rental period.
