Download Pro download free software unwanted charges Internet
Like other posters on this site I had a terrible experience with Download Pro. I clicked on a link to download "Spybot Search and Destroy" a free spyware program. Should have been suspicious when I was immediately redirected to a site that didn't have a good feel to it but a professional look, no misspellings like some of the foriegn sites. I thought it had been so many years since I last downloaded this very good software that it may no longer be free. I was given three options; one year use for $25., 2 yrs for $18/yr, or 3 yrs for less. I took the $18 option and immediately after the transaction close got an alert on my Chase credit card of a $78 charge. The site makes it very difficult to get back to. Glad I can dispute the charge on the credit card but now worried about what that bunch might do with the credit card information. BEWARE of redirects, should have gone to Cnet.com which links to free software directly.
