I made the mistake of trusting Dr Ellen A. Janetzke MD (Dr. Ellen) to perform cosmetic surgery, in May 2006. She took $12,000 prior to performing a breast lift and a tummy tuck. I went into surgery weighing 122 lbs and wearing a size 8,loosely. I didn't feel I needed the tummy tuck...I just wanted a little liposuction to abds and thighs. She convinced me that a tummy tuck would improve my figure much better than liposuction. (It also costs a lot more!)I trusted her.

My post-op visit, I was seen by one of her employees. This person was not a doctor or a P.A. or a nurse. She was a medical assistance with no knowledge of medical, or universal precautions, for that matter. She was appointed to be in charge of my care.

Within nine days of my surgery, I was running a high fever, and had pus draining around one of the drain tubes that was stitched to both ends of my abd incision. The medical assistant refused to remove the drain, although the site was hot to touch and inflamed, and infected. This was a Friday, and she told me to come back Monday.

I telephoned Dr Ellen's answering service on Sat morning, and finally got to speak with the Dr, and obtained her permission to remove the tubes. I was able to do this myself since I am a registered nurse. If I had no medical training, I would have have spend that Sat in some Emergency Room and then paying the ER visit bill!

Besides the poor care I received, my surgery was a complete horror. My before pictures taken by Dr Ellen's staff actually looks much better than the after pictures, and Dr Ellen even admitted to that. The proof is in the pictures!!

On the contract I signed prior to surgery, it stated that if you are not satisfied with the results, let the Dr know and she will try to correct it. So, I did just that! I was concerned about gaining 10 lbs and having to wear a size 10,after this surgery, and after the initial swelling subsided, and the fact that my hips look much larger in my"after pictures" and that my abdomen is not flat(the purpose for the tummy tuck). I finally got to see Dr Ellen and we discussed this and she stated that she could fix a lot of these problems with liposuction. I agreed to let her fix it.

She had me to wait in the office and said the scheduler will come in and set everything up. Instead, her husband, who hangs around the office, playing security guard, comes in with the scheduler, and inform me that since I wasn't happy with the care, they no longer want me as a patient, and therefore, will not fix my problem. So $12,000 later, and a botched up surgery, I will have to pay someone else to correct or at least get me back to the way I was. I would like everyone to be aware of these low life scam artists, that hide behind their title, and take your money and leave you hanging.

I suggest you first document all the stuff she did to you by taking detailed photos. Next call the medical board and register a complaint, medical boards take these complaints seriously. Next file a malpractice suit and sue for damages, you will need a good attorney. It sounds like she needs a good lesson and her medical license yanked.

Be glad she's not going to operate on you again. You don't want her to operate again. Even better, her admitting there is a problem, but refusing to attempt to fix it, opens the door for you to demand a refund. Or, you could sue her. She should be plenty willing to give you your money back in exchange for your agreement not to sue.
