We are no longer breeding Shibas because of the unethical activities of Sandi M Smith of Dragonhouse Shibas in Washington state.

Everything posted here will be verifiably factual.   She has a way of staying under the radar of AKC because they tell you it is a civil matter and they will not help and neither will the NSCA.  Most of the people she violated do not get an attorney because it is financially illogical.  My attorney told me my case is valid but his fees far exceed my claim.

My case in point is that she agreed to a contract and is refusing to adhere to it.  She agreed to sign off the paperwork when my dog finished his Championship and now will not do it.  Repeated calls, email and certified letters are ignored.  She kept her name on him and bred him 3 times.  She had agreed to show him while she had him and did NOT.  She agreed to reimburse me for outside breedings and did NOT.  She currently owes me $3600 and will not respond in any way including refusing registered mail except for her husband to call and threaten me with slander.  IT IS NOT SLANDER WHEN IT IS TRUE AND I HAVE PROOF.

My male is sitting idle...can't be shown or bred because of Sandi's ridiculous claims against another breeder causing AKC to take action against her and not considering the source where all the complaints have been.  This has gone on for almost two years with entire litters' registrations and breeding plans on hold.  My lines came to a standstill so I'm out of breeding Shibas as long as this behavior is acceptable.

Many other people have complained about her taking their dogs and getting them spayed and neutered before she gives them back and then they have lost value when it comes to a court trial.  I got lucky because I found my dog in Wyoming being used as stud without my knowledge when I demanded to get him back.

Do not buy from her, breed to her dogs and above all, do not let her get her hands on one of your dogs if you want it kept intact.
