Dean Backstrom is the local Wallingford, CT franchise of Durable Sealcoat LLC. Although I usually pay $300 for my driveway to be sealed every two years, I came across the Durable Sealcoat web site which detailed the high quality work. I contacted and got Dean Backstrom who pretty much works by himself. He told me he gave me a 10% discount and we agreed on a price of $584. He came for half a day and told me he finished the work.
When he was done, I stayed away with my car for 48 hours. Even after over a week, my tire wil make a deep indentations on where he patched. There were bubbles and some sealing also cracked. Some of the cracks were so poorly filled that water was going in. He did not fill the cracks with enough small stones for the asphalt to hold up. He DID NOT do as the website stated it did.
After more than two months of fighting, his 30 min visit to nothing that was helpful I gave up. Not sure what he put down, my car tires, this is a passanger car mind you, continue to imprint on the asphalt he put down. I had to get someone else to patch his shoddy work. He was a BIG waste of money. He has no pride in his work.
