Dwight Glade Deceptive Auto Sales winterset, Iowa
October 29,2010 Advertised 99 Jeep Cheerokee Sport for sale on Craigslist. He claimed it was his step son's and they were selling it because they had to move to Florida and couldn't afford to drive more than one vehicle.
The Jeep had a mismatched tire that he said was damaged when his sone hit a curb so he had to replace the rim and tire but no other damaged was done. After he had the money, he stated that the vehicle had a salvage title in his step son's name .
Turns out the vehicle had been wrecked and purchased by Dwight in order to fix it up and turn a profit. He did a shotty repair on the front axel and frame which had broken welds within two weeks of driving it home.
I called Dwight and questioned him on the repairs and he claimed to know nothing about it and said the vihicle was just fine when he sold it to me. To repair the jeep with known good parts and my own labor cost me in excess of $600.00 which he refused to reimburse. He had moved to Florida within the two weeks of the sale and would not respond to my messages or letters.
Dwight is likely conducting the same sort of scam to this day, he is not a mechanic who is capable of these kinds of repairs on vehicles and is selling unsafe vehicles to innocent people who may not know better.
