On November of 2012, I dropped off my 2008 Mustang to Dykes Automotive located in Opelika, Alabama to get the interior put together, install a new computer, and get the key programed. After giving them $1400 in cash, they proceeded to tell me that the car needed a battery and a transmission fluid flush in which they would need $300 for all the materials. They then proceeded to tell me that it needed a fuel pump and a fuel tank. I then ordered the parts online that were needed and gave them a check for $600 to complete the work. For the last six months I have not been able to get ahold of Vickie Dykes, who was the person in charge of my car, and every time I called and asked anyone in the shop, they had no idea if my car was running or not. They continued to give me a run around until Friday, August 2nd when I sent for the car to be picked up and brought down to Florida because I was not quite sure if they were finished with the job I had paid for since there was no communication on their part regarding the progress of the work. That day, Bill Dykes, the owner of the company, told me I couldn’t pick up the car because I owed them for storing they car at a rate of $45 a day and that the car has been abandoned and they put a lien on the car. However, this is not true because I tried calling four times a week and getting the situation resolved months ago. I should have known not to leave the car with them because they have such a bad reputation as you can see if you Google them and look at the reviews they have received. They are practically stealing my car and have worked their system but they never told me that my car was finish nor that I owed them anything since they never answered my calls or attempted to reach out to me. Last time I spoke to Vickie Dykes, which is March of this year, she said she apologized for not getting back to me but one of her relatives had died and she was getting all the paperwork together to see how much I owed them. That was the last communication I had with either Vickie or Bill in regards to my car

At this point, I will be getting a lawyer to sue Dykes Automotive and I am very disappointed in their fraudulent business practices.
