Mark, your response has so many holes it's laugaable. 1) Why is a salesman calculating final pricing on the order?? 2) Your F&I man did check and recheck the numbers, right??? And goofed it too??? How was the rebate itemized TWICE on the contract?? 3) Your sales manager rechecked those numbers too, right??? And forgot to sign the contract? That would make 3 people who 'miscalculated' the total. Either they're morons or you're running a tired old scam. If the pricing 'error' was $3000 and that was because the rebate was counted TWICE that would mean the contract had to show $6000 in rebates off the sales price. My grandmother would notice that..... and she's dead. Keep in mind there'e varying degrees of 'demo'. Depending on mileage, condition and remaining warranty you should get way below dealers cost. Since the contract's not signed the buyer is in the drivers's seat literally. I would enjoy the car for a few days and see what the dealer does. If they threaten to report it stolen, let them. They'll have a tough time explaining how they let a car off the lot with an unsigned contract. The local news media will certainly enjoy a story like this. Give them a call. Be sure to fax them a copy of the contract.

MR. Darko, came into the Dealership and during the couse of negotiations was offered a "demo", he was agreeable to a "demo". When the price of the vehicle was being calculated the salesperson made an honest mistake and deducted the GM rebate twice. This caused a $3000 error. In all honesty Mr. Darko realized what had happened because when he was called by the manager the next day and told about the mistake he said "he knew about it" since his caculations and ours did not agree. His claim of bait and switch is ridiculous. He was being offered a vehicle at below Dealer cost and now has the nerve to say we were trying to rip him off? I think it was the other way around, this is the type of person that given the wrong change would just put it in his pocket, and say absolutely nothing. A site like yours is terrific if it gives a consumer who was wronged an opportunity to expose a business that ripped them off, however it is unfair if it allows a rip-off consumer to slander a legitamate business.

Hey Darko How long ago did you go to this dealership? When you went into the F&I department to sign all the documents they ask you to sign, did their F&I guy or gal sign everything too? This all sounds like a plan to see if you will fall for this scam for them to pump more money out of you. If I were you I would send a copy of this to Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corp. He works for an automotive industry publication called Automotive News. He is their GM reporter. I am sure that he would enjoy reading your Rip Off Report. Dave Guilford General Motors Reporter 1-313-446-0321 [email protected] Please remember Darko that their are many companies that go from car dealer to car dealer accross the country training car dealer's sales staff how to pump more money out of car buyers. They don't call car sales people "LOT SHARKS" for nothing. Deception in the auto industry must be EXPOSED!
