Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I wouldn't recommend taking your pet here if they're experiencing any kind of ailments. My family's parakeet died before we could leave the parking lot. I can assure you that our bird was in better condition before we took her here since she was fully alert - just not flying well. She'd also probably would have still been alive if we had waited out the situation before taking her to our usual go-to vet (North Park Veterinary Care).

I was concerned that she may had broken her leg or wing since she wasn't flying well. According to X-Rays, the parakeet wasn't showing any signs of breakage or fractures. He gave her pain medication just in case (I believe that he gave her enough to overdose) and gave us a bottle of pain medication to take home.

Dr. Thompson doesn't want to take the least bit of responsibility since he believes that he gave the correct amount of medication. He also doesn't believe that we should at least be refunded for the medication that we were unable to use. Beforehand, he kept citing laws of taking medication back that's in liquid form. He established that part the first time, yet kept repeating himself like a broken record for some reason. I gathered from the phone call that Dr. Thompson is one of those people who can't do anything wrong. He will say or do anything to protect his image and reputation, not caring what a devastating impact his mistake can cause.

The total charge was $108. This is a ridiculous amount, considering the circumstances. Dr. Thompson is one of the most arrogant doctors that I have come across so far. All he could give me was a half-a** apology and a long-winded answer to why he shouldn't give a refund on the medication that we couldn't use since he feels like that the treatment would be coming out of his pocket. That is where Dr. Thompson's personal beliefs and moral as well business ethics collide. I kindly asked for a refund on the unused medication, not a full refund.

Don't let me get started on the lying, because he left a voicemail last week that stated he'd try reaching my husband since he was unable to reach me at the time. My husband tried returning his call that day, but his staff said that he was in surgery all day. It wasn't until today that I was finally able to get in touch with him. He said only my number was listed on the papers, which a boldface lie since it was my husband and son took the parakeet in. My husband wrote down my and his number on the paperwork.

This whole experience has left my family devastated, especially my 9 year old son. We do have other pets (2 other parakeets and a Maltese), but my family and I will never ever set foot in this facility again. The moral of the story is learn a lesson from our mistake and to not take your pet(s) here. Otherwise, our experience will most likely be your experience, too. I wish I had did my research on this vet beforehand, because this isn't the first incident in which someone had issues similar to this. There was one incident where a person's pets had been given the wrong medication to take home, which could have resulted in a tragic situation.
