Please do not sign anything at Eastex Collision without consulting your insurance company first. The are daily scam artist. The only way they can get your business at their run down dirty hole in the wall shop is to trick honest people into signing forms to hold your car hostage. My car was towed there after I got into an accident. So the next morning I went down there to get my belongings out of it. I went back with Roger and got my things, took pictures, and just looked at the damage. The whole way back Roger was like a salesman trying to push Eastex collision to be the repair shop I choose. I told him that I hadnt made up my mind where I wanted it to go yet. He then kept pushing it saying they had the best mechanics, state of the art people, facilities, tools, etc. He also told me that they only used new parts and that if I take it anywhere else they will just put aftermarket or parts from another wrecked car. My car was wrecked when it was 2 days old. He also said another benefit of using them is that he wouldnt report it to carfax. So then when we got back to the front desk he told me I just needed to sign these two forms real quick. One was from the sheriffs office because it was in the sheriffs holding lot and that the other was just to move it out of that lot so that I would stop accruing daily storage fees until I decided what I wanted to do. I asked him a couple of times.."this doesnt obligate me to have my car fixed here does it?" he said no not at all. All you have to do is come back and sign a release form and you can take your car anywhere you want. So I signed. Then when I went back in and wanted to have my car released Roger talked to me for a while trying to get me to reconsider, then Dustin the manager came out and talked to me for about 20-30 min trying to get to reconsider, telling me that Service king is just going to screw me and put used parts all over my new car and how Eastex Collision has been in business for 35 years and they are "good ole boys"/"real good solid people". Then they sent me over to another guy to sign the release forms and he then started in on me as well. So then I signed the release for. Next I called geico and asked them to move my car to Collision King. Well when Geico went to pick it up Dustin the manager from Eastex Collision told them I had to pay a $1000.00 steering fee among all the other charges they were charging my insurance ($2800) for 3 days on their lot. A steering fee is a fee they assess when an insurance company steers you to a different place for repairs. Geico did not do this. I choose to move it. They are basically holding my car hostage with the $1000 fee that Geico does not cover since I signed the form. I went back to discuss the fee with Dustin because they would not answer my calls and he sent Roger to talk to me and told me "that is the cost of doing business and would not lower the fee or even work with my. These people take advantage of good people at a horrible time in their lives. These are despicable people just trying to make a buck regardless of the situation. I even explained to him that I spent my savings ($51,000) on this car 2 days prior and that I am military, in over 11 years and he could care less. So much for "real good people". Needless to say I am going to scrape together the money and pay the $1000 just so I can be done with these lieing manipulating thieves. Please do not do business with this place. It will be a horrible mistake that you will regret!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Google them. They are a F rating on the better business bureau and have complaints all over the place.
