eBay Financing Department Andrew Carter, Kate Maurer Ebay Financing Department Scam Atlanta, Georgia
I was looking to purchase a vehicle from craigslist when I found someone selling a 2001 Toyota Solara in Bismarck ND. The owner (Kate Maurer) stated that she would only use Ebay Financing Center to make the transaction which serves as a third party for the purpose of the safety for the buyer and seller. This purchase will include shipping and insurance and will arrive within 24-48 hours from the point of the transaction. I was then giving specific instructions on how to proceed with the transaction.
The transaction was to be made through money gram to an eBay financing Department agent (Andrew Marc) who will hold all funds in an secure ebay account, they would then notify the seller to begin the shipping process once they receive confirmation of the transaction. The car would arrive within 24-48 hours after shipping. You then have 5 days to inspect and confirm whether or not u wish to keep the car. If you choose to keep the car the funds will be released to the owner, if not the funds would be released back to you and the car will be shipped back to the owner.
I was told to make the transaction through money gram to and Ebay agent Andrew Carter, 211 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Atlanta GA 30303 and confirm by e mail and fax using the invoice #, the case ID # and the money gram reference #. After doing so, I never heard from either person again.
