I have moved 27 times; I am a mature adult, and this was the WORST MOVE EVER. I read a report from 2003 and only wish I knew about this website before.  I had Ed Schmidt Moving and Storage, pack and move me; this move was packing a 4 bedroom house and moving the next day. It was only moving from NJ to PA.

I can say every single piece of furniture was damaged. I took pictures; some pieces of furniture had 2-10 damages on them. Our bed a hugh tear in it; broken mirrors/pictures/ missing things. 

Ed Schmidt, JR. the sales person  was a great talker! He had the worst 5 movers; they were in a rush; rude ruthless and just terrible. I had three trucks; as they moved things into our house in PA they damaged the railing going up the stairs and more furtnitue.

Now it gets worse; Ed said to me look I don't want to pay these guys so just sign off and don't go threw the 500 boxes if anything is missing I will make good. A MISTAKE; I have things missing and the terrible person Carol Foster; supervisor at the coporate claims office was terrible. She couldn't care less when I reviewed my entire file with her; she just wanted to send me forms for arbritation; she was nasty; not customer service friendly at all. BUT AGIAN I SAID TO HER they took my $10,000 no problem.  

They did send a man out to fix the furniture; the paints/stains; but our furniture will NEVER be the same its all chipped, damaged. They did send check for the things we needed fix; HOWEVER CAUTION; they tried to low ball us on things; I had to fight for some things.

I  have a big box of beautiful frames/pictures missing; and they refuse to send us a check saying well you signed off: I tried to explain Ed said he didn't want to pay the help to stay.

So bottom line DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY at all, from the packing/moving/ to claims was awful.  I must say my direct claims rep Cheryl was nice and sweet.  However it doesn't fix the problems.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE; I have always used United Van Lines and will go back to them. STAY AWAY FROM MAYFLOWER TERRIBLE CORPORATE OFFICE.
