Avoid Eddies transmission on 930 E Zimmerly St
I had Eddies do a transmission swap out on a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I purchased a used transmission from a local salvage yard for $ 350 bucks. Eddies wanted to argue that installing a used transmission was not a good idea. I purchased this car as a rebuilder and was not willing to dump a ton of money in. Before installing my used transmission he said there was no warranty on any work done or preformed. After swapping out transmissions I was very satisfied with the work. Around three months after I have discovered that my power steering had developed a leak. Very bad at that. I tried fixing the problem with some stop leak. Did not work!! I made a phone call to Eddies asking if there was any way there could be a problem with the way the transmission that was installed. Eddie told me there was no way that the power steering could be harmed. Well after my wife has been driving this car around without any power steering for little over a month now. Anyone that has driven one of these cars without power steering knows that its almost in possible to turn. So I took the car to my mechanic to have a better look at what I was dealing with. We had it up on a lift and discovered that the rack and pinion high pressure lines had been bent up wards and crushed against the transmission dip stick. Like been jammed up there. So I proceeded to call Eddie back and tell him my discovery. He was very rude on the phone and was not willing to talk to me. He told me to bring it by and leave it and he would get to when he could. As I explained to him that was the only mode of transportation my wife has, and I could not just leave it. He also proceeded to tell me that there was not a warranty with this work that was done. I said there is nothing wrong with the Trans you damaged my power steering. He said there was nothing he could do and to bring it by. I said you dont stand behind your work? Thats when he hung up on me and not to call again. Very rude and unprofessional.
