I sold an item on ebay to an ebay member, Edgar Rakhamimov of InternetStoreNewYork. Edgar Rakhamimov has found a way to SCAM people. He has told ebay that he returned the item, which he did not, so ebay debited my paypal account and gave Edgar his money back. I have contacted ebay over 15 times by phone (they do not allow email service, isnt that strange for an internet co.?). I was concerned about Edgar's behaviour early on, and sensed he was a thief. I notified ebay about this, they informed me that I would receive my money back. That has never happened.

I am concerned about the practices of ebay and InternetStoreNewYork. I feel they have done this before and need to be reported to protect future customers. ebay is known to protect and hide that practices of dishonest buyers crooks. Sellers can NOT leave negative feedback for dishonest buyers on ebay, so crooks, like Edgar Rakhamimov of Internetstorenewyork etc., use ebay to steal from merchants. They are never reported by ebay, and their practices are purposely concealed by ebay. ebay earns a commission for all transactions, averaging around 12% total (ebay + paypal fees). So it is to their advantage to make ebay appear to be a safe place to do business, but it is not. Ebay staff even told me, "We want to appear as a nice place to do business, so we will not post any negative comments about dishonest buyers".

You have been WARNED! Edgar Rakhamimov is a crook, and ebay is not a safe place to do business. It is a good place for thieves to scam you though. Every day, crooks are stealing on ebay.

BEWARE! ebay crooks will show 100% positive feedback. Buyers (including thieves like Edgar Rakhamimov) can never receive less than 100% positive. Don't be fooled! Don't be SCAMMED! Avoid ebay!!! You have been informed and WARNED!

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I got scammed by someone living in Brooklyn, New York, too. Maybe they are related?
The person sent me an empty box. Of course they did not insure it. Since it was delivered, the shipper would not have paid insurance anyways. Ebay did nothing, but let the thief keep his money. So, I was out $230. I stopped buying through ebay long ago. I just shop locally, the way people have for over 10,000 years! Technology (including tracking #'s) just opens more doors for thieves. It seems that NYC is where all the scams and ponzi schemes start. That's where all the dishonest investment bankers & brokers hang out. Wall-street is so corrupt now.

Well I know in some way shape or form that if he told or ebay/paypal that he sent it back then he provided some kind of proof that it was shipped and deliverd. With that in mind I take it that you didnt receive anything...or an empty package?

Tracking is a waste of money

Unfortunately, tracking numbers have many faults, but are always profitable to the shipper (that is why they are offered). Tracking gives the shipper a false sense of security, and the thief an alibi.

A tracking number does NOT insure that the item shipped will be delivered, nor even tracked, for that matter. Often, the barcode is NOT scanned. If it is not scanned, the shipper has NO idea where the package is. Sometimes 'a' barcode is scanned, but that is all. A barcode is NOT merchandise, and is of no value to me [it won't feed my family].

If you are unaware, thieves have been shipping empty packages ever since the USPS was established. This type of mail fraud is what Dennis Kozlowski, the former Tyco International Ltd. CEO, used to defraud the IRS. He shipped numerous empty boxes with tracking numbers for proof of shipping. He was later caught and charged with mail and tax fraud.

I am sure that there are many, many more ways that thieves work through ebay and shipping services. People just need to be aware of the scams out there, and need to know that ebay protects and conceals dishonest people like Edgar Rakhamimov of InternetStoreNewYork; and ebay often puts the loss to the seller, while ebay and paypal make a nice profit.

Ebay is not as safe as they appear to be, and want you to think.

Ebay had to make the feedback policy because there were raunchy sellers who smeared their buyers when they left negatives. But......like more of ebays great ideas (sarcasam) people use them to screw innocent sellers. I know buyers have to provide proof of delivery for any claime though. You might want to look into tracking info.
