Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I stayed at this extended-stay property for several weeks. I am also aware that this is a low-budget accommodation, and that it's used as a residence by many people. I was only here temporarily on business, and was seeking lower-cost accomodations because -well it's my business why I want to save the money that I work hard to earn. I'm aware that other options are available. I choose this establishment because I thought it would serve my purposes; which was basic, no-frills acommodations.

The office seemed quite concerned with all the "guest's" responsibilities. However, they really didn't seem to take even lukewarm hospitality, nor their obligation to provide basic functionality to paying guests very seriously at all. Many tenants had similar complaints (tenants were those who stayed there for over 30 days). This establishment had the water shut off for around 12 hours or more for 3 days during my stay.

On another day, there was no electricity. Both of these circumstances seemed to be caused by lack of conscientious and thourough maintenance and by "cutting corners" throughout the property. Although, I'm only going by what I know from several years of working closely in the remodeling and construction industries and what I casually observed.

Now, it's understandable that things happen. Water lines break, power outages happen etc. However, when I approached the office regarding a partial refund, because I had not recieved the services I had paid for- they nearly laughed in my face. This is the most disrespectful, condescending "hotel" service experience I've had in years; and I travel extensively. I did not pay to stay in a place without running water for days at a time.

I did not pay to go for 7 hours without electricity, either. Any ethical business wouldn't think twice about offering some sort of compensation...This place didn't offer so much as a bottle of water, even though water was completely unavailble for days at a time during early morning, afternoon, and sometimes late-night hours.

What's more, the parking lot floods regularly which means you can't get to your vehicle without wading through ankle-high water or walking along the property's edge when it rains. - On days when there was water, there was no hot water. It was just warm enough not to freeze while showering. - This business treats customers, guests, tenants, applicants, employees, contractors, and everyone within its value chain in an undignified and unprofessional manner.

They treat paying, working adults like children rather than customers who provide them with revenue. What's more, they can't be bothered to apologize nor compensate for their lack of efficiency in operations. They exist in a predatory and narcisistic manner which is inconsistent with fair and ethical business practices.

This establishment has posted guidlines for accepting long-term tenancy applications in an area in their office that's visible to the public; which includes language that is unconstitutional and against FHA rules and guidelines regarding publicly advertised property. I went a different motel after I couldn't shower, do laundry, or even flush the toilet for the third day. This added extra expenses to my budget because I had already paid for these basics - yet didn't recieve them as agreed by the El Dorado Inn.

I'm writing this report so that future travelers will avoid this place because the establishment doesn't deserve your money. Anyone who's thinking about the El Dorado Inn or other motels as a residence; I advise you to download a copy of California tenancy rights beforehand. It includes definitions and guidelines for extended-stay motels such as this one. If this is what happened to me, I can't imagine how they treat people that are stuck living there.

This place needs to run its manager out, or the owner/manager should delegate a more professional team to do those duties because clearly the current team is incompetent. I'll be following up with the BBB and the health department on Monday.
