During a recent Electrolux 10% Rebate promotion on Appliances during Feb 2009, I went and paid full retail price at Best Buy for a 36 inch cooktop, a 30 inch Wall Oven, a 30 Inch Warming drawer and a 27 inch microwave paying over $5000.00 (Not cheap stuff) and was expecting to see $500 back in the form of a rebate Visa. Like always, I try and watch out for those rebate rules and little bit of mis-hidden information and thought I had this one covered! Note: Best Buy is listed on the Electrolux Web sight as one of the stores in my area where I can buy thier product through. And now I am finding out that BestBuy is not part of participating retail store dealer for this rebate! What! And the major brand store names were not stated directly on the rebate form either that they do not participate, like a Sears or Best Buy. The form was shown in the store! The prices of the Electrolux appliances seem to be regulated from store to store when we shopped around. So, it looks like thier markup is all the same.

Bottom line, I would of selected other products and waited for a better deal in this "2009 recession" if I knew this was going to be the case. The $500 could of bought the Dishwasher. I am so disappointed with the practise of the Electrolux rebate business now. This seems so Ticky Tacky. I have not opened up the appliance boxes yet, and I just want to send everything back and never look at your company again! Suggestion, to everyone, go buy Kenmore elite products - wait for the sales, dont mess around with Electrolux. They may have great products, dont know yet, but their business practices seem to be mis leading and unfair to consummers!

The reason you bought the electrolux appliances was for the rebates. I learned the hard way, years ago, NEVER, EVER, buy ANYTHING for the rebates. You might even have a problem returning the appliance back to best buy and IF you can, you may have to pay their 15% restocking fee. I figure if a company wants to sell me an item, they'll give me their best price up front and skip the rebate. What's the figure on rebates? Only 2 or 3% of them are ever paid out.
