Purchased a love seat Sept 2009 at a local Ashley Furniture Store. At the time I was presented by the Ashley representative a 5 year extended warranty for the furniture and decided to purchase. Store closed in 2010. Recently the leg rest on the piece would not spring back under the unit when released. Called Elite Warranty for help and was told that since the store closed, there was no one to help me. I added that shortly after purchasing the unit, I had an issue and a local independent repairman was sent, one that was NOT an employee of the store. I asked why that person couldn't be sent. They said they would refund what I paid for the warranty. I told them they had my money for 3 years, that I wanted the warranty executed for what I paid for. They kept talking about the store being out of business. I told them if I purchased a GM from a dealership with a 100,000 mile warranty and the dealership went out of business, GM would stand by their warranty. I asked why this was any different. There response, that's just the way it is.

SO - DO NOT buy anything from Ashley furniture and DO NOT purchase any warranty from this company as they will not live up to the SIGNED agreement
