Complaint Review: Emad Ghaly - Bayonne New Jersey

When I met Mr. Ghaly he seemed like an amazing person. I told him that I had the state helping me with the funds to obtain the apartment. He was completely OK with it he told me that he has worked with this agency before so that it wasn’t a problem. I gave him the paperwork to be filled it out. Then when I was supposed to pick it up he told me he had somebody else interested in the apartment who had cash in hand and that if I wanted him to wait for this money to be sent to him for me to pay him $300 cash just to fill out the paperwork so of course because I had already stopped my apartment hunt it was just excruciating to try to find a decent place with my credit score and I had already fallen in love with the idea of having a place and not to mention I was just desperate to not be be homeless.

I obliged, and I quickly met him at the store right next to the light rail station on 45th and Avenue E. He was not there so I gave it to his brother who looks exactly like him. I spoke to him over the phone and he told me he would give me a receipt when he saw me the next time which of course never occurred. I didn’t realize that him not being there was actually intentional so that he can say in court that I never gave it to him. A few days go by and he told me that he’s going to require two months security he went as far as to put this on my lease so if the organization was only paying a month and a half security I told him that I wasn’t going to give him the other half and he said he was going

to throw out the papers and that I’m wasting his time and I started crying and I contacted the police and I still have the officers card to this day and we went to numerous addresses trying to find him so that he can give me my keys because legally everything was already signed so he already had a promise note from the agency saying that he was going to get the money so it’s basically money in the bank and the agency told me that he wasn’t allowed to go back on the deal now so I contacted the police with my paperwork and proceeded to try to get my keys and my lease we went to numerous addresses and he shut off his phone The officer said that they had other things to do and couldn’t

be with me any longer so in the meantime I’m in the street with my children and out of desperation just to get my keys I called him from numerous numbers about two days go by and he finally turned his phone back on and he told me he gave it to somebody else to search for another apartment and I begin to beg him to please work with me that I won’t call the police or anybody ever again and I made the most dumbest decision and I told him OK fine I will give you the other half of security which I did I proceeded to bring it to the store again he wasnt there again it was the brother and someone who he claims is his sister I don’t know if it’s his sister-in-law or his real sister. I have text

messages telling him that I dropped the money off and him responding with OK but apparently that just wasn’t good enough to prove that I brought him the money even though I have a print out from the bank saying I withdrew a big amount that day. The whole giving it to the brother game basically worked against me and he knew that because he’s an expert he’s a real estate agent he’s been renting for many many years I am pretty sure by the way he did this it was cold and calculated and this must be something he’s done to other people because this scheme is just too good he also told me I would have parking and took that away he also is trying to make me pay for the water for the

house although there’s a laundry mat downstairs he has done numerous numerous numerous things I mean so many details to so many different things but in the end he got too much security from me and I paid for paperwork I wasn’t supposed to be paying for that was from the state for him to fill out I’m back-and-forth with him in court all the time because he says that I owe him all of June’s rent and the water bill and things of that nature because according to his logic he lost out waiting for the check and refusing to give me the keys apparently he lost out on June and wants me to pay for it even though I moved in July 1 due to him not wanting to release the keys to me because he wanted more and more money. In a nut shell just be careful with this guy when you come across him get everything in writing and when you get everything in writing it’s not enough record him if you can because he signs differently to later claim it wasn’t him that signed it he loves to tell people to drop it off at the store so that he can say he never received it.

Please be aware he comes off as somebody that’s going to save you somebody that’s going to help you he acts like a loving person and then he turns. Oh I forgot to mention when I moved in I had no heat or hot water for weeks the heat didn’t bother me so much until the wintertime came but I stayed here for weeks without the common things that people deserve especially with all the money he received. I had to spend money to stay elsewhere due to not having heat and hot water. So he is also a slumlord, rented this to me as a luxury apartment and it is trash and has so many damages but like I said I was desperate. And I believe that he would've fixed it within a few weeks of me moving I didn’t know he was this bad of a person.

Also, I can’t claim this to be fact because it didn’t happen to me but according to others he also likes to make undocumented workers and people who don’t know any better work for him and then he disappears when it’s time for payment apparently he was robbed a few times because of these actions. The infamous store he sends everybody to drop the money off at got robbed at gunpoint and that was actually in the paper "The Jersey Journal and Before the store got robbed he was robbed at gunpoint and these are attempts by exworkers that are actually not playing around just trying to get paid for services rendered and although it’s wrong the way that they’re going about it it just tells you how many people he has wronged to the point that he has moved to Howell New Jersey and out of Bayonne and will not give anyone the address because of the fear that he owes too many people and his life is in danger.
