Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I approached the front desk person and told her the dear friend I was visiting had a bad odor and was visibily soiled. She barely raised her head up from her desk and whatever she was writing. I went back to my dear friend I was visiting and soon the head lady, who happens to be a nurse, came out and said "Oh its just coffee," and then walked away...it was feces and urine and she did have coffee on her shirt which may have been from breakfast! This was after lunch by the way!!! I ended up taking her to her apartment and began trying to help her. Then an aid came in and helped me and was so apologetic. She said she had worked there for some time and loved my friend and apologized for managment. I complained to the state and no follow up was made to let me know how things went. I called the corporate line and no one got back to me!

As far as I can see...this kind of attitude, undignified manner, and just plain ol' disregard for these folks is inhumane! I would ask to speak to the head person in any facility you go to and I would never reccoemned this place! I did tell my friends family and they are considering moving her although it can be so traumatic to move an elderly person they are very disppointed as well and are fearful or retribution. Ms. Breakell is a disgusting person for behaving with such disregard. I have been there several times and many residents seem unkept and unclean. There is always food left from the meal before on the dining room floor. Many of the residents seem like they need a place where they can get more care than this setting. Has a very old nursing home feeling like the one I would visit my great grandmother in the 60's. The decor is nice but it smells foul and most staff dont even raise their heads to greet you. Very sad place!

This person is probably paid by this huge company to look up daily compliants and rebute. Yes, it is a dear friend of mine I was visiting and I made her family, her daughter a close friend, well aware of what I witnessed and they are considering moving her. They have now hired someone to come in also once a day, in addition to their rent and "care" fees, in every effort to avoid "one more move" for their frail mom. I looked up their site visits and complaints on the Texas Department of Aging website and it is not very good when you dig and see how many ownership changes they have had and under each change is significant substantiated citations.

Just another example of a large "care" company using resources like this rather than adding more care staff to really positively impact their buildings. I continue to visit and keep a watchful eye, ear, and nose to whats going on at Spring Creek Gardens. Still very underimpressed! If you plan on bringing a loved one come in especially on a Saturday & Sunday. Look at the calander and see what "activities" should be going on vs. whats really going on. Alot of sitting by the people who live there. Staff are hard to come across or they are on their phones. Come in at dinner time and see poor frail residents struggling to get to their rooms with the days lunch still all over them. Disgusting.

I just checked the State of Texas website (Department of Aging) and looked up their survey scores - there are three facilities with the same name and their scores were very good.  When you complain to the State then they will automatically do a surprise inspection (been in one). And if they are found to be not in compliance they will be subject to fines etc if they problems are not fixed.

I have a hard time believing your report because in all the Nursing homes/long term care facilities/Assisted living I have never, not ONCE, smelled anything more than the usual smell (and that is not urine or feces smells).  I did my internship in a nursing home and there was not ONE day that I arrived that the "smell" was unusual.  And aside from the fact that you are reporting on behalf of your "friend", removed said "friend" from the facility without her consent or family knowledge I smell crap.  No home is going to allow you to remove a person without authorization.
