I ordered three out-of-print rare books from Emese Kowalski through the craft website Etsy.com. She charged me more than 150 dollars for them, not including postage.
She printed a mailing label and attached it to the front of the box, but she used a FedEx box and did not even bother to tape the flaps down. The box was shipped using Delivery Confirmation, insured for more than 200 dollars, and with a fake weight entered on the label.
When I picked up the package at the post office, it seemed really light. I opened it right there in the post office at the counter with the postal employee watching. It was totally EMPTY except for a few sheets of crumpled paper and my invoice.
I filed a claim with Etsy and she refused to refund my money. PayPal would not help because she had a delivery confirmation number. I filed a police report, but that's not going to help me get my books or my money.
This old, crazy woman RIPPED ME OFF. She gets to keep the books I bought, and claim the insurance money, too. HOW CONVENIENT.
