AOL made it really hard to cancel back in the mid-1990's but seem to have fixed the issue. I mention this, because I wonder if you had trouble canceling, or did you just forget? If you forgot, then next time, put it on a calender. It's too bad that you got billed for something you don't want anymore. :( I hope that this tip helps others.

You got billed because you did not cancel the membership before the trial was up. Next time, read the conditions and terms you are agreeing to BEFORE giving out your credit card number. They will continue to bill you until you call and cancel.
