I admire those of you that are reading this message. It means that you are researching and verifying the company that you are possibly getting ready to work with. It means that you have a true interest in your choice to be a part of a very cut throat industry and that you want to make the right decision concerning your career. Knowledge is power and by researching you educate yourself so that you do not act in ignorance. There are many model management companies that cover and do many different things in the industry. Since the beginning it has been our goal to open the doors of the model industry to the few that actually have what it takes to make it. Unfortunately for Empire Model Management and many other top agencies we sometimes select models that are not up to par. There are many different reasons that a model may not succeed in the business. It may be anything from a bad attitude, not showing up for casting or work, being difficult to work with or just not having the right look. Each model is a very unique individual and Empire Model Management tries to build a foundation for beginning a long-term career in the modeling business. One model will never be able to look at another models career and judge how their career will go. Sometimes it does not work out between an agency and model. Every agency in operation has seen this happen to them and sometimes it ends very good and then there are times that it ends badly. I am sure that no one recalls when a model agency post potentially negative material on a model but I am also sure that there are thousands of post out there from models about how bad an agency is. How do you know what to believe? Good question! Go with the facts! Most of the time the work that the agency does speaks for its self. Clearly most any one can look at a website of a model management company and tell if it going in the right direction. You can tell by the quality of models that the agency represents, the caliber of work the models are doing, how the models progress and also the length in time from which most of the models are with the agency.
I would like to present all of the facts regarding the following model Erin Marie that was in fact a model under an exclusive contract with Empire Model Management. We will show below several pieces of evidence that shows Empire was more than capable in representing her to her highest potential. Models have to show up to castings and to actual jobs in order to be successful. Erin Marie failed at this task on several occasions with several different agencies.
Erin Marie Stated he gets you shit jobs

Erin
Marie Stated he sent me to South Korea in January of 2009 to this shit hole
apartment-i came home after 2 days and had to pay back the Korean agency for

-This
was the first trip that Erin Marie went to Korea for a modeling contract. The following
emails clearly show that the problem was not the apartment. Oldest email starts

hey justin.. Im in Korea- and I have to be completely honest. I am pretty
miserable.. I dont have a cell phone, there isn't any outlets to plug in my
laptop so I can talk to my family and the guy who picked me up Ralph wasn't
much
help.
I hate to be a baby- but this really sucks-the living situation is a
whole
other story...but thats my last problem because I expected it. There isn't even
a shower.
I truthfully cannot picture staying here for 2 months...please get
back to me
asap about what my possibilities are because I dont think I can do this

After the first trip a few
months had passed and Erin Marie wanted to go back to this Awful Place South
Korea to model. Emails below show her stating that she wanted to go back. She
also came into the agency and did an Oscar nominating performance of how well
she would do on this trip.

I truly do want to work though and I really want to take my modeling career as
far as I can possibly go.
I would like to be in the city every day this week but I need the cash which my

Erin Marie states Vaseline- the client
pays the agency first and then your agent is supposed to pay you..so he owed me
around $1600
Here is the billing info
for the Vaseline job. Erin Maries Math is off. Per the billing info and per
the terms of our contract Erin Marie would take home $1000 after the agency
takes its 20% Commission. For the new models out there this is how agencies
make money. Model agencies charge the client a 20% and the model a 20%
commission. Now you know.

Hi mate,
Just confirming you will be billing:
Paula Goodwin
Talent Partners/Print Payroll Services
(Address Removed for Security Purposes)
Total: $1250 + 20 % Agency
Model
agencies often give models cash advances, pay for the models comp cards,
marketing materials, test shoots, portfolios, and much more. It is never a
gift. The model is responsible to pay back the agency for the money that is
fronted for them. Nothing is free in any business. Luckily for Empire Model
Management we have an accountant that tracks each transaction for each model.
That way there are no questions.
Erin
Marie did not take into account all of her expenses and cash advances that
Empire Model Management had given to her. She did not calculate her expenses
against her income. She made enough to cover her expenses and actually over the
course of her contract took home money. When she asked us to pay her plane
ticket from Korea we refused based upon our previous experience with her not
showing up to jobs or castings. We knew that we would never see the money
again. Her account would have been negative meaning she would have owed us the
money back. She was a risk that we were not willing to take. She is a mad
disgruntled model. Below is another email showing that she is nothing but
unreliable. This is an agency that we placed her with on the west coast and had
many amazing opportunities for Erin Marie that she just didnt show up for. We
are modeling management companies, and we want models that want to work! Names
and addresses have been removed to protect privacy of the agency.
Hi Erin,
I hope this email finds
you well.
Both myself and other
agents have been trying to reach since you have returned from Asia and had no
response.
At this point, we feel
that it has been extremely difficult to get a hold of you when we have possible
opportunities for you. For this reason, we feel that our representation
of you in the San Francisco/Bay Area will need to be terminated.
As of February 1, 2010
you are free to seek representation with another agency in this market.
We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Best,
I hope that this information will be of some help to you that are reading and researching about this company and this business. We gladly welcome anyone who questions Empire Model Management, Inc. to come and visit that agency located in New York City. We assure you that you quickly will learn the true facts of how hard we work on each model. Quality over Quantity is our approach.
My name is Justin D. Peery
and I am the acting CEO of Empire Model Management, Inc. I am answering these
negative comments by this model because I personally have a care about what is
being said about my establishment. Some people find it odd for an Executive to
stand up and take action but if this happened more then the public would be
more informed on what is going on.
