My daughter had $95.40 deducted from her bank account by emusic. When she called emusic they claimed she signed up for a trial offer on 6/23 for audiobook downloads and that the trial ended on 7/7 and they charged her $95.40 for a year's subscription of audiobook downloads. She had never been on the emusic site. My daughter never reads books and would never be interested in a free trial of audiobook downloads so there is no way she would have signed up for a free trial of audiobooks. She actually went into the emusic website to see if she was registered. She wasn't. They had no record of the one and only email address she has. When she tried to log in under her email address, she clicked on forgot password and it came back that emusic had no record of her email address. You must use your email address and enter a credit card number before you can do anything on that site. I also tried to bring up her account under her email address on the emusic site and I can confirm she didn't exist on the emusic site. When she called emusic they even said they did not have her email address although they did have her name, address, and apparently her bank and related account numbers. How did they get this information? They had to buy this information from some other scumbag company where she had signed up for a free trial of something else several months prior and ended up being charged for crap in the amount of $600. That is the only way we can determine this could have happened.
