Energy Plus Bait and switch for rewards programs Philadelphia Pennsylvania
Energy Plus has relationships with several airlines. They offer rewards programs which offer you double the miles and a sign-up bonus, for instance, when you switch to them.
They of course say that the rate MAY go up. It will.
Here is an analysis of the difference in rates which demonstrate how much they rip off their customers:

Current kw rate with ConEd: .079
Current kw rate with Energy Plus: .169
Here is the dollar difference, for example, of 800 kw usage in a month:
ConEd: $63.20
Eenergy Plus: $135.20
The difference is huge, and I don't think is offset by the rewards you receive for air travel.
