On June 17, 2018 at about 1:30 pm, I arrived at the Greenville Downtown Airport and parked at Greenville, Jet Center. Several days prior, I made reservations with Greenville Jet Center for a rental car, as they advertised that they had Enterprise rental cars available. The person who presented the contract pointed to the $25 per day price on the contract and stated that was the daily rate. This was in line with what I had paid in Topeka six hours earlier.

On June 20, 2018 at about 6:30 am, I returned the car to the Greenville Jet Center. Later that day I received an e-mail receipt from Enterprise showing my credit card had been charged $240.66 for the 3 day rental. One of the errors on the receipt showed a four day rental instead of three. I called Enterprise and explained that I could not have picked up their car on Saterday the 16th, as I was busy driving one of their cars in Topeka and would not arrive in Greenville until the next day. They issed a credit of $60.16 to my card. Next I asked why the $25 per day rate stated on the contract was not honored. They stated that they had an agreement with Greenville Jet Center to charge a higher rate and suggested that next time I call them directly. Well, there won't be a next time. I reminded them that my copy of the contract stated $25 per day, but they still refused to honor it.

I contacted my credit card company and reported that I had been overcharged. Ripoffs like this have been happening more often lately, and my credit card company had been very good about making matters right, but this time they failed. Enterprise lied to the credit card company and submitted a receipt I had never seen that was fabricated on June 22, 2018, a day after I had alredy turned in the car and left town. Enterprise falsely claimed that I agreed to the price shown on the forged receipt. I'm not sure why my credit card company accepted a document that didn't exist at the time I picked up the car or at the time I returned it as somehow being proof that I agreed to pay double the reasonable and customary rate for an economy car. I'm also not sure why my credit card company would ignore the $25 daily rate I showed them that was on the contract I was given at the time of pickup, and instead favor a forged document that was dated after the car was turned in.

I am appalled at the number of complaints on this and other websites about Enterprise. I had no idea. I have been a loyal customer for 39 years and never encountered anything in the past but a pleasant experience. It is unfortunate that Enterprise has chosen to discard almost four decades of business with a customer just to make a quick buck.
