I brought my car to Delray Honda for tune up and some repair early in the morning on March 16, 2010. In the afternoon, the service advisor called me that the delivery of one of the parts may be delayed until the following day and for that reason they are going to offer me a rental car c/o Delray Honda. I asked my office mate to bring me to Delray Honda and a service from Enterprise Rent-A-Car came at the shop to pick me up. He brought me to a nearby Enterprise sales location.

A sales rep by the name of Jackie processed my papers and towards the end she offered an insurance for $18 to cover for damages. I declined and told her that the car will just be parked at our garage while waiting for my car at Honda. She did an ocular inspection of the rental car and marked the damaged parts on the rental agreement form. There were several major dents and scratches. I did double check and found one small dent which she added on the form. Then I went home and parked the car inside our garage. I went to church at night but I brought with me my Odyssey van because I don't want to expose the rental car to damages and also to converve its fuel.

The following day, when the service advisor told me that my car (Honda Accord) is ready, I then went to the Enterprise sales location to return the car. When I gave the car key, one of the guys did an inspection of the rental vehicle and noticed a dent on the passenger door at the back of the driver's seat. That dent is difficult to see unless you are a little farther from the car or when you really touched it. I swear to God that I did not cause that damage. I also do not think that it was caused by a door of an adjacent car that was parked near the car when I was in the office because that side was not exposed to the driver's side. I am very certain that the person who parked near me was alone because we almost parked at the same time and when I took the car out, his car was still there because it was only 4pm and employees usually go home at around 5pm.

I felt that I was ripped off because I am very sure that I did not cause that dent on the car. I can partly blame myself for being so careless of not thoroughly inspecting the car and maybe taking some pictures. I did not expect this to happen. I have been renting cars regularly and I never experienced having to be charged for small dents like that which I think already pre-existed.

Just a warning to car renters, please, please inspect the car you are renting to make sure that you will not have surprises and if possible, kindly avoid ENTERPRISE-RENT-A-CAR. Their reps are rude and they have a very bad service.
