A very nice and flirty guy came and knocked on my door and told me he was in college trying to win a trip to Cancun this morning. I fell victim and ordered one subsciption to Car and driver for my Fiance.

We'll tonight I looked at the ripoff report and saw the claims against them and put a stop payment on my check so I don't have to go throught what everyone else is. I knew from the start I was making a mistake and I'm kicking my self in the butt for doing it but I'd rather pay my bank $30.00 for the stop payment than to let them get away with it.

Next time I know to listen to my instincts and just put my foot down and say NO THANK YOU!!!!

I would call it falling victim. He said alot of things that were bodface lies! Like I could track his progress on the internet. I check its not there. That there was 2 girls going around my neighborhood in tank tops wanting to go to "cancun" also. So he was going to put a sticker on my door saying that I bought for him so they wouldnt bother me. (Never saw them and he didnt put a sticker on my door) That didnt really add up at the time because it was 30 degrees outside but I just blew it off. I didnt want to take the chance in loosing my money like all these other people on here did . Anotherthing that didnt add up...when I tryed to cancel the subsciptions it said that I had 3 days to cancel from the date that was on my recipt. SO when I went to get my recipt to sign the cancelation slip it was dated the 11th i bought it on the 14th and that day was the 15th.

First off, I wouldn't exactly call backing a kid up in a contest, "falling victim" to anything! How do you really know who posts comments like the ones you read on the world wide web. Perhaps competition, enemies, etc... Of course there will be some people who don't get the magazines they ordered -- but all for good reasons (data entry error, magazine siezed publication, messy handwriting, etc.) For whatever reason, you posted a scam comment on a company that you didn't even get to discover if it was a scam or not.
