Handful of American brokers are involved in remarking or converting or representing commercial parts as military parts, which is big profit as well easy way to source required obsolete parts. Nice way to make fast bucks. These commercial parts are subjected to fewer MIL-STD883 test for which necessary documents are created with the help of local test house. Many commercial parts do past basic MIL-grade tests and certain performance criteria. Hence these reports become handy to sell those parts to their military OEMs and agencies , which eventually gives them enormous profit. Actual damage comes when these parts are put to real time usage and on war field. These spurious parts stay in shelves for few years before they go to actual usage. There are over couple of 100s of networked associates,affiliates of ERAI who are part of this scandalous activity. On many occasions these parts are ordered from China and sometimes they are made in the basement or backyard. Many big companies are part of this scandal which is sponsored and certified by this parent agency known as ERAI.
