I signed up for a plan after Esurance offered a lower rate for the same coverage as what I previously had with another company. I asked at least twice to confirm the coverage was the same, they gauranteed it was. After I signed up I found out the coverage was NOT the same -- they removed the two most expensive options (comprehensive and collision). Taking this into account I'm now actually paying more than I would have with my old company if I had made the same changes. This seems to be a classic bait and switch trick.
After I realized this I called Esurance back to give them the opportunity to fix this. They offered no help and gave me the impression this is just standard operating procedure. They said I could either pay $50/month more to get my previous coverege (i.e. more than what my previous company charged) or I had to go online and fill another form to agree to the incorrect lower coverage terms. They also now told me if I don't agree to their incorrect lower coverge online within 2 days they will mail the terms to me and charge me an additional $25 more!
