We was looking for a bull terrier puppy, so after buying the Dog USA magazine, we called Etenna Bull Terrier and talked Anne Dreher she said her bull terrier was going to be giving birth in 2 weeks and if we overnighted $250.00 and she received it by 5pm we could reserve a puppy.

After calling her 3 weeks later to check about the puppies she said they all died. But she had another dog about to have a litter. She would call us after she had them.

After 6 weeks of waiting we called her again all those puppies died too. We always got some excuse why we wasn't getting a puppy. We keep getting a run around each time we called. This went on for a year until we asked for our money back she said she would refund our deposit when she got some money.

We contacted her several times over the last 2 yrs & 9 monthes. After contacting her again after seeing another ad in a diffrent magazine(dog fancy),she said that the deposit was non-refundable i then asked her for the money or a dog she said she had a dog there and if i wanted it i would have to give her the rest of the money and go and get the dog.

To whom this may conern.

I have known Etenna Bull Terriers "Ann Dreher" for over 30 years.  She is as honest as you can get. If

she said a dog died it died. In bull terriers it is not unusual to lose a whole litter.  I have been showing

and breeding for over 30 years and too have lost many bully pups.  Etenna is a reputable a breeder as you

can have.  As for the Deposit, im sure she returned it, or as many breeders have in their contract,  deposits

are non-refundable.  She is not a puppy mill, so breeding would have quite some distance between them.

As a breeder myself, again not a puppy mill who pumps out pups,  there are years between my litters.

I would vouch for Etenna any time.

I purchased my Bull Terrier from Etenna way back in 1991.  Kaelei lived until the old age of 15.  Since 1991 I have visited with Anne on several occassions just to catch-up and see all the wonderful dogs.  She breeds on a very selective basis and the results produce the sweetest temperment and most gorgeous puppies.

I now live in Portland and when I am ready to purchase my next bullie I will most definetly be buying from Atenna.  I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Hi,

my experiences with anne dreher, have been  great. I purchased my second bull terrier from her, in 1996. I called her add in dog world after having to put down my 5 yr old bully due to kidney failure. she was not afraid to tell me what to ask other breeds, to assure i got a healthy dog, after the tragedy i went thru.

I waited 6 months for Mira, there was also the calls of pups not being what i wanted, or surviving. They are a difficult breed to chose to think you can profit from them. Anne loves the breed, that is why she does what she does. when Mira passed away at the age of 11 1/2, i called anne again, i didnt even think of calling any other breeders, and i live in maine. She had three baby girls, and gave me first pick.

I flew to california, Anne gave me a partial refund because she didnt have to fly the dog to me,she drove to the airport, picked me up, we went to dinner, she wouldnt let me pay. I met my baby girl, Merra, stayed the night, and she took me back to airport next day. I cant say enough good things about her. She loves her dogs and is very honest. if you go to her site, she has pics posted of my girl.

I just know that in the future when Merra passes away, that i can still count on Anne to sell me a beautiful bully again. =)

Anyone that looks at Bull Terriers to begin with will see that they are unusual. If one takes the time to research the breed, infant mortality can be staggering. That is why they are not popular with the puppy mills. The babies die. I researched this breed for 3 years before canvassing breeders. Etenna stated, in writing, that "deposits are non-refundable," that "infant mortality within the breed is high" and that one can "be in for quite a wait." It took almost 3 years to get the puppy that we wanted. It was worth the wait. They also said that things happen, that are beyond human control. In animal husbandry, anyone with half a brain would realize that. Your complainant represents one person out of probably hundreds (over the last 25 years) that the people at Etenna have worked with. Miguel Ferrar liked his dog from them. Bill Shatner valued the opinions of Etenna people, even though he was into Dobies. Our girl is 8 going on 9 and is thoroughly trustworthy with the neighbors' Yorkies, cats, and Great Dane. I think you people are doing some nice people a real disservice in this case.

I was very suprised to see your report regarding Etenna Bull Terriers. I have purchased two Bull Terriers from Anne, a male and a female, each time I gave my deposit to Anne and each time I recieved my puppy, its been over two years and she continues to provide me with support on them. I have been in her home on many occasions, she runs a very organized and clean breeding program. Her Bull Terriers and French Bulldogs are right there to greet you when you arrive. She is NOT a puppy mill you do have to wait, mostly because Bull Terriers are not the most prolific of breeds, they often times have to be assisted in their breeding or artificially inseminated and unfortunately the females are not known for being the best mothers. But Annes dogs are defintely worth the wait, as I said before we have two differnt dogs from two different litters and they are the best dogs I have ever owned. Happy, Healthy and Well Adjusted Bull Terriers, I would and will buy from Etenna's again. I find it odd however that you reported her as a rip off when she told you she had a dog and to come and pick it up? Sounds to me like she was honoring her end of the bargain. Did you expect her to just give you a puppy?
