Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
First off, I am an 25 year old male with average looks and in a better position compared to others in my age range. I have a good job, house, car, and a few good friends. Going to night school the second time around and working the occasional late night doesn't leave much time for me to go out and find high quality women. That's where Events & Adventures (E&A) come in... a singe's club where one is able to make new friends and possibly meet the significant other of their dreams.

Now before I even thought about going to one of these screening where one gives such information about any previous dating services used, financial information, and previous relationship information, I read most of the reviews, BBB complaints, and ripoff reports that I came across, but was still curious as to see what kind of service this "singles club" actually was.

I have recently been introduced with the high pressure, fast talking salespeople of this company and do not feel that their customer service has improved one bit in the past few years (at least not in their St. Louis branch). I met with a lovely woman named Rhonda who was a self proclaimed relationship expert, but in reality she seemed to be the manager of the branch.

I spent about 20-25 minutes listening to this woman garble out repeated statistics, extraneous information, how I should do this if I ever had a chance at a relationship, and the phrase "We're good at what we do! We're E&A!" about half a dozen times.  She seemed like an experienced salesperson in the sense that she knew how to lay on the BS and keep pressuring her customer into making a commitment right then and there.

It was at that point that she reminded me of another company which doesn't have a clean reputation due to their advertising practices, customer interactions, and sales pitches -
Thomas Construction (if you're from STL then you probably have heard of them).

I informed her that I would contact her because I needed to think about spending either the $690 (plus monthly fees) for a trial membership or the $1795 (plus monthly fees) for the 1 year membership. She told me that I would not be able to take advantage of the 3 free month "offer"
which she had mentioned in the 20-25 minutes I was there.  Needless to say that she tried to pressure me into signing up for a membership by regurgitating the same BS she was putting out before. She acted as if paying so much money for the service was no big deal. When you're in
your mid twenties with a mortgage, car payment, student loans, and bills then money is somewhat of a big deal when you're single.

When I was leaving she acted as if she didn't want to have anything to do with me and pretty much rushed me out the door with the insincere farewell - "Yeah, uh huh, thanks, bye".

I called Rhonda back to try to negotiate on the trial price - some starting lowball offer of $350 (plus monthly fees) for the trial - and was immediately rejected by her saying that the prices were set in stone and the same "Yeah, uh huh, thanks, bye" farewell. I thanked her for her time and hung up. Fair enough, she loses a sale and I take my money elsewhere.

I can't comment on the service itself because I have never utilized it nor will I in the future. This is just a record of my interactions between this salesperson and the "delightful" outcome that came of it. I do hope that if this company wants a good reputation for itself then it should make good on its promises of improving its customer service - right now I would rate them on the same level as the stereotypical used car salesman.

For those of you who are considering this service, BE CAUTIOUS and do not let them pressure you into investing thousands of dollars into something which could turn out unpleasant. Do research and make an informed decision. It saved me from making a mistake and hopefully this will help at least a few of you to do the same.
