"Lets get these guys back so they can't take advantage of anyone else !!!!"

I actually received 2 calls from this company during the same week. The first call was from a female who was very uneducated and obviously reading a script. I immediately said "no thank you" and hung up.

However, the second call was a thing of beauty. Allison McDonald, well spoken and efficient, called to extend the cc offer one last time. She explained I had applied for this line of credit 2 months ago, which I never did, and that Everest would be able to help me.

Allison told me there was a one time fee of $299 that would be deducted in 2 weeks and it was for processing fees normally incurred over a 12 month period ie: apr, annual fees, etc. This fee is what helped Visa provide me with a very low interest rate and no annual fee.

I'm currently going through a state bonded credit repair agency so you'd think I'd be prepared for this. NO, I'm an idiot for being so naive. I was even asked how my relationship was with my bank and to explain. What? I should've hung up at that very moment.

I completed the recorded phone call with "Jason" who was supposedly a rep for Visa. It was short and sweet with only a few Yes/No questions. This was unlike most cc terms and conditions but I was still oblivious. I received a confirmation number and was then transferred back to Allison.

Allison went on to tell me she suggested once I receive the card to cash advance the $299 and deposit it into my account. This would in essence avoid the initial start up fee. She also said that because I was in the continental US I should receive the card quicker than the estimated 3-4 wks. She noted to simply call customer care and they would give a pymt extension if needed.

Lastly, I became a little concerned and decided to research the company. That is when I discoverd the numerous "Rip Off Reports" filed. All I could do is laugh. My bank was able to put a hold on any account transaction requested from Everest and I have since closed that account. Although my account has numerous eft's set up I was able to close and reopen an account in about 10 mins. My bank was very cooperative and even filed a report on my behalf regarding Everest Consumer Services.
