On 6/5/07, I purchased a 50cc Economy Scooter online from EVOSALES.com in Los Angeles for a price of $799.00. After it arrived on 6/12/07, I was called out of town and was not able to assemble until 6/23/07. After assembly, and the addition of gas, the first thing I noticed that the gas gauge did not work. On the morning of 7/3/07, I could not get the scooter started. After several attempts, I tried to call both 323-620-4789 and 323-244-6230 several times, and all I got was a recorded message that says "We are having problems with our answering machine... Please call back and someone will answer the phone". No one ever answered when I called back!

I had to take the scooter to my mechanic that afternoon, and it cost me $160.00 to repair a "broken ignition supply wire to the coil" and "ignition module terminal". Two days later, it would not start again. I took it back to the same mechanic on 7/9/07, and he has had it ever since trying to get it started. He has tried several times to call 323-620-4789 and 323-244-6230, but no one answers! He found several LOOSE electrical connections. This latest repair bill to fix this starter/electrical problem will be $200.00+.

EVOSALES.com website clearly indicates that "customers get free tech support from the manufacturer", and that "every effort is made to make sure you will not encounter any problem getting it started". Where's the support??... Where's the effort in resolving my problem??... Why do they not honor their commitment to resolving these problems??

After paying for this cheap Chinese scooter, the license and registration, taking it to the mechanic on 7/3/07 and 7/907... This $799.00 "WORTHLESS PIECE OF SCRAP METAL" scooter has cost me well over $1280.00. When you read their return policy, it states that it cannot be returned after 7 days or once gasoline has been put in it... they sold me a worthless, non-functioning LEMON! The scooter only has 6 km on the odometer! That's less than 3 miles! ... I could have purchased a working Yamaha or Honda model with a better warranty for the money I have already spent on this "paperweight".

Both myself and my mechanic have made MANY attempts to contact EVOSALES.com, but they have NOT done anything to try and solve this issue. They DO NOT return calls. They DO NOT respond to emails. I have filed a complaint with my Bank/credit card company, the Better Business Bureau, CA Dept of Consumer Affairs and the Los Angeles District Attorney's office advising them of their poor and fraudulent business practices. I know I cannot be the first customer to complain about these cheap Chinese scooters, but I will certainly make sure something will be done about this!

I run my own business and I have a "lot" of time on my hands that I spend online... I write reviews for our company newsletters that is sent to over 25,000 recipients every month. My latest review will be of this worthless company and of their CHEAP-Chinese mopeds. I will make it my mission to let all my customers know NOT to buy anything from EVOSALES.com, and especially NOT to buy any CHINESE manufactured scooters. Since I also design websites, I may even create an animated banner about these cheap machines and their company and put it on my home page for ALL to see (I get 260,000+ visitors every month to my website).

Customers are helpless once they buy from them. They sell a product that is clearly inferior to the Japanese models, and their "after-the-sale" customer service needs a lot of work. Thank goodness for the California Lemon Law!

First of all, thank you David, for plastering my and Moise's cell numbers all over here. How would you like that I take some of your private info and publish it a little here and a little there?

It's too bad that I'm only seeing this now, I would have liked to respond earlier.

Please note that our main number is 866.646.9696. Calls to that number are answered during business hours, phone messages and emails are returned within 1 business day. Calling our cell phone does not guarantee a return phone call.

In one way, this being over 2 years old is a good thing. We are still here strong as ever; we would obviously not be if many of our customers had the same experience.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your scooter purchase. Our tech support number is 469.454.1897 or 866.646.9696 x3. We do provide free tech support to all of our customers. Calling our cell phones my not help all the time.

Fraudulant Import Documents

I have recently learned that the Certificate of Origin documentation sent to me with the scooter is FRAUDULENT. It shows "Chongqing Astronautic Bashan Motorcycle Manufacturing Co., Ltd." of Bashan, China as the manufacturer. In fact, after corresponding with the Business Manager of the company in China, they advised that this is NOT a product of theirs. They have no knowledge of EVOSALES, and that they DO NOT import any 2-wheeled scooters into the U.S. because of current EPA regulations. I've forwarded all of the documentation I received from EVOSALES.com along with all of the correspondence from the Business Manager of Chongqing Astronautic Bashan Motorcycle Manufacturing Co. to the U.S. Customs & Border Protection in Coos Bay for further investigation.
