Exclusiv Fashions Exclusiv Tailors Custom Tailored Clothing Scammers in Kowloon/Hong Kong Hong Kong Kowloon
My family went to Hong Kong and we selected Exclusiv Fashions to make custom made clothing for me and my 8 year old son because they had a storefront and seemed extrememly nice. When we had our initial discussion with the men who handled the measurements, they assured us that we would have the 2 suits and 6 shirts before we left for the states. I was pleased about this, as it made me feel even more comfortable.
When we went to our fitting, the sizing was especially off the mark. They assured us that this is normal. The problem was that the extra work would unfortunately force the need to mail the clothing to the states. This was the first time I suspected we were being scammed.
The group did, eventually, send the clothing, but in most cases, they sent the same clothes that had been given to us at the fitting - untouched. It seems that they may have gone too far with the cutting before the fitting, which would have forced them to either remake items or send us back items that they could not fix. They did the latter.
For exmaple, one of the suits has a jacket that is 3.5 inches too short. This was what had been discovered at the fitting. They assured us there was no issue in fixing it. They sent the same shirts for my son that had been determined to be too small. Clearly, these things happened because they would have needed to start over if they tried to make the clothing fit properly. The other clothes, which our local tailor says he can fix, will require more than $500 in tailoring. Note that the total spend in Hong Kong was $1200 USD.
Overall, I would strongly advise against purchasing from Exclusiv. The men who are measuring appear nice and are good in sales. On the other hand, you will end up very upset with your clothing once you get it. According to other reviews we have now read on the company, this is a very common occurance with this group.
Note that our continued attempts to reach the merchant have fallen on deaf ears. No responses at all. I have some relationships in Hong Kong, so we will see how they can assist. I used American Express, too, so will attempt to fight all charges.
