Although the apartment was very nice, Beware of application process! I viewed and applied for an apartment home in september of 2014. I paid my application fee and 100 deposit upon viewing the apartment. I had to wait until everything was cleared before being told if I was approved for the apartment or not. A move in date was set depending on approval. I decided while waiting for the approval to move away from Baton Rouge. I informed Devon, after being notified that I was approved that I would not be accepting due to me relocating. I never signed a lease only the application. He stated ok, and never mentioned anything about picking up the $100 deposit which I paid as a deposit. I never bothered the apartment about it and felt that it was my fault for paying without being sure I was staying baton rouge. I considered it money loss! Now 5 months later, I started receiving phone messages from a number out of florida. I finally answer Feb. 16, 2015 to be told they were collecting a debt on the Regents behalf! When I inquired about the debt I was told that I owed 1084 which was equivalent to 1 month's rent. I stated that I never lived in the apartment home, nor did I sign a lease. The agent then places me on hold and then returns stating that because I signed the application and was approved for the apartment I owed them a month's rent. I tried contacting the apartment home later that day. At first a female answered the phone stating that I did not give enough notice that i did not want the apartment, and that was their process. So I stated just for basically viewing an apartment I owe you a month's rent. She then became rude stating that she was sure that the agent Devon had went over everything with me because he had been doing it for 4 years. I stated that if he had told me I would have to pay rent for not living there, I probably would have just moved in. She then tells me she remembers me and my father. I told her no because I never met with a female, and I never applied with my father or even brought him alone, as he lives in another city 2 hours away. She then stated that she would have Devon call me back becaue he was out on the premises. I haven't heard back from Devon yet! Please be aware of this apartment! Do not view or sign an application unless you are planning to move, otherwise you may receive a call from collections threatening to place a negative mark on your credit if you don't pay up.
