Complaint Review: Executive Marketing Solutions - Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

I worked for Executive Marketing Solutions, Pittsburgh, PA for 5 months. 

During those 5 months I was unethically deceived about the company and its opportunities.  During the first month I was trained and promoted to "Account Manager" where I had my own Sam's Club or Best Buy to drive to everyday (after driving to Monroeville every morning).  At the store I was expected to pester people everyday about their cable or satellite service.  I would be screamed at, ignored, and harassed by customers--all complaining of terrible experiences with "the DirecTV people" that have worked in the stores in the past. 

At first I was brainwashed to be excited about the business and all of the opportunities that came with it.  I had a chance to travel to Dallas for quartlerly "leadership meetings" and Puerto Rico for a "vacation" and awards ceremony.

I dedicated so much time and money into this job, thinking it would eventually pay off. 

I was never once compensated for my hours of travel every day, gas money, or the appropriate amount of hours every day.  I worked on average 60-65 hours a week and was paid for about 35-40 hours. 

Mike Beauregard, the "CEO", who does not have a college degree, let alone any experience running a business before this magical company taught him the ropes, is a sexist agist pig that forced himself on me. He took advantage of his powerful position over me. 

Mike Beauregard often would lie to other employees in the office about where I was going or where he was going for the day, and come to the store with me in order to spend time with me.  Mike Beauregard and I would often stop at the bar before going to the store, or Mike would bring along recreational drugs to do before we went into Sam's Club or Best Buy.

Mike Beauregard often put sales in my name, I think as a tactic to try to "win me over".  Mike once had a party for all the employees on Memorial Day at his home, where he got so hammered drunk that Mike Beauregard forced himself on me and tried to kiss me.  I immediately left the party for fear I would be forced to do things to keep my job.

I never wanted to speak out against these injustices for fear I would appear "disrespectful at work" or losing my job.  I was often ridiculed by Mike Beauregard in his office for being disrespectful to him in front of other employees.  I expressed to Mike Beauregard that I was scared I would lose my job because I was underperforming, and he always reassured he would not fire me.  This "sales job" is very mental and when I was fearing losing my job or fearing that if I tell Mike Beauregard I didn't like him back, he would immediately fire me or worse keep me around to do what he wanted with me because of my dire financial situation. 

This job required me to lie to customers indirectly by "answering what was asked" instead of answering what I knew people meant when asking certain things.  I compromised my integrity by leading people to believe DirecTV was the service they needed, as opposed to assesing their particular situation and determining if it was actually even right for them.  I was often ridiculed for not writing enough sales and putting up big numbers, but instead I signed up people that truly wanted the service. 

The incident that made me quit this job:

A customer called me complaing of the following things: the directv installer showed up in a personal vehicle (not labeled or affiliated with directv at all) the installer did not have a ladder (directv is a SATELLITE that goes on the roof?)
he did not have the means to put the satellite on the roof so he was trying to force the customer to pay for a $100 pole mount so "he could get paid" he drove from Ohio. I was under the impression that this is a LOCAL service
he asked my customers for gas money because "he drove from ohio and he doesn't get paid if the people don't get installed"

I am truly appaled at the unprofessionalism of this entire company--Smart Circle.  They simply "promote" the best sales people to run a sales office, recruiting naive young people to be the work horses so they can lazily sit back and collect money.

I was never paid on time. My checks were adjusted according to what Mike Beauregard wanted to pay me.  Before I told him I didn't like him I was paid a lot more. Mike was often late for work, didn't show up on weekends because he was sleeping or too hung over to make it to the office (where the employees would sit and wait outside sometimes for a half hour until Mike woke up, called us and told us he wasn't coming to the office).  There is no structure to this business at all. I was never paid on the same day, I had to beg for my check or ask for it, or it wasn't given to me.  I filled out time sheets that were NEVER looked at or used.  I found out gradually about the interworkings of the company, how employees are paid and etc.  I never knew if my sales were installed because Mike Beauregard never gave us access to the website that showed who was installed with DirecTV and who was cancelled.  The main reason for this, I believe was to keep the employees from knowing about our personal installs, the rest of the employees installs, and mainly Mike Beauregard's installs himself, because he lied so much about sales that others did. 

I cannot say enough bad things about this company.  It is truly a scam and the biggest waste of my time that I have ever delt with in my life.  I would caution any woman from working for the perverted, lazy, unprofessional, pig of a man Mike Beauregard.

ALSO- before I quit Executive Marketing Solutions, I began hanging out with one of my coworkers after work.  Mike Beauregard found out and screamed at me, saying it was unprofessional to have interoffice relationships, when he asked me out on numerous dates, held his position of power over my head, tried to sexually harass me, verbally harassed me, made me fear losing my job if I didn't say the right things or do the right things.  This man should lose his company and all of the money he has scammed people out of over the past 3 years. 

I can't believe a word this man says. He is a liar. He is unprofessional. He is a pig that preys on women.
