I needed a credit report for a job I was looking for. My wife googled "free credit report" and got Experian's link advertising link as "Get your credit report for $1.00". She ordered the report and paid $1.00 with a credit card. Few days later we saw a charge on out checking account under Experian for $20.00. I called Experian to ask them about the additional charge after the $1.00. The representative kept saying it was for a 'membership fee with Experian' my wife never signed up for. Experian pretty much said they did nothing wrong and they could not refund the money either.

Well it's all good and fine if you know you signed up for a $20.00 membership. But how likely are you or me to read the find print after clicking a link that says, "Check you credit Now for $1". Total scam..
