Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My husband lost his job, he is an OTR truck driver.

To begin with freight has been slow therefore our checks that were good when we purchased this car were good but they have gone from $800 a week to $400 a week.

My husband was in a accident on 12/19/08 he was put in a hotel over the weekend and on Monday 12/22/08 he was let go.

He had to rent a car because he had all of his belongs in the car so he could get home he was over 1,000 miles from home.

That Monday we had a doctor appt for my youngest son and I was unable to call Express Credit auto , I called them on Tuesday.

I asked if there was anyway they could give us one more week to make the payment so we could borrow some money to pay the car note when my husband received his final check and money a friend was loaning us we would be able to pay the car note.

Being it was a few days before Christmas I thought they would try to work with us WRONG.

They said nope , too bad we can give you an emergency code to put in the payment device but it would only allow the car to work for 24 hours after that the car would shut down.

Well I figured we would figure a way to get the money and pay it Friday 12/26/08 but use the emergency code Christmas day so we could use the car to get to my mothers.

WRONG they gave me the wrong code , thank God we live close to my mom and my brother in law came to pick us up.

I understand you have to pay your bills but everybody knows most are having a hard time making ends meet right now.

This company will not work with you if you can't make a payment only if its a medical reason that is the only reason, if you lose your job, too bad they don't care.

I will never buy another car from these people and now not advice anyone to buy a car from them.

They are heartless.

Their payments are too high but at the time we had the money and we needed a car.

Yes our credit is not the best but we are working to get it better , but most of our problems with credit stems from medical bills.

This company does not care about any of your reasons you can't pay, I can see if they want proof you lost your job and proof of income for the last few weeks they could do that since they finance the cars themselves but they don't care.

All they care about is getting the money and that is it.

Also the car had a few problems after we purchased it but of course these things were not covered under warranty.

The driver side window went out and will not roll down, there was a small leak in one of the tires, and the front end of car shake if you go over 70mph.

I would not suggest you purchase a car from this car dealer.

They will not work with you if you get in a finical jam

Magnolia, When you purchase a vehicle you have to make sure you are going to be able to afford it, even if times get bad. If you were making $800 a week then you definately could have saved money for months to cover the car payment incase something like this happened. Its not express credit's fault that he got in an accident and lost his job. Dont lose your job. If you worked then you could of covered the car payment. Express credit works with you, i have a car through them and they are great. Probably the best car company i have ever bought a car with.

How exactly is it they should "work with you" ? Should they just listen to every sob story they hear and let y'all just slide on your payments? Should they not attempt to collect because of every story they have to listen to? I understand things are tough............they are alllllllll over for a lot of people and yet a lot of people find ways to cut back and pay what they owe. The accident your husband had must have been considered his fault for them to fire him on the spot over it. That bytes but it is what it is. IF he has any kind of "reputation" as a good driver there's a company out there that'll take him.....even with the accident on his record. IF you had issues with the vehicle when you bought it.....why didnt you complain then? Why is it that now that you can't afford the payments that you find fault with it? This is definitely not the way to rebuild your credit either. This will no doubt be reported to the 3 agencies and it's not going to look very good. you wrote:>>They will not work with you if you get in a finical jam just what is "finical jam"?? .........and before you jump my case about not knowing the trucking industry and how slow freight is or can be.......give it up. Ive been involved with the trucking industry for over 30 years. I know allllllll about how slow freight is....especially this time of year.
