Eyewearus.com's website said that once your glasses arrive for repairs they will give you a quote, at which time you may accept or decline the repairs costs. Which ever you choose the website states your glasses will be repaired/returned and on your doorstep within 10 days.
In addition, the customer must pay for shipping charges for them to return your glasses before the order can be completed. This is when the company additionally rips you off because they sell warranties for 9.99.
I mailed my vintage eyeglasses to Playco Corporation, Attn: Repairs Unit. My USPS confirmation shows that they received my glasses on 8/17/08. Although when I called after a couple of weeks to inquired about my glasses the customer service girl (very, very rude) told me that my glasses were not received until 8/25/08 and they had 10 days to act. I asked her for her name because she was so rude to me on the phone, then she hung up on me.
I called back and insisted that I talk with a manager. This is when they connected me with Stanley Bolds. I told him that his company had my glasses long enough and that I had not even received a quote. I demanded that Stanley return my glasses. This is when Stanley went crazy...he said that my ugly a*s glasses sat on his desk for a week. Stanley also said that he had vendors in and out of his office and they all said "where did you get those ugly glasses". I responded "oh, really!" and told Stanley to return my ugly glasses today. Stanley told me to quit yelling or he would break my glasses in half. Stanley stated that my glasses were already repaired. I asked "how can they be repaired when I never received a quote"? He said "don't worry...I won't charge you a lot".
I called Stanley about a week after the last call, this time he was very pleasant and told me that my glasses were to be received by him from the repair department that day and he would have his girls go through the order and contact me as soon as possible. That was a week ago. Now I am trying to contact him and demand my glasses, but all the websites for everyone of the companies I listed is not working.
I will e-mail him as soon as I finish this report and demand my glasses or money for my vintage glasses! I also knew from the first phone call that I did not need the insurance that I purchased because I would never do business with them again.
I just want my glasses back. They are vintage and I will not be able to find another pair like them. If he does not return my glasses, he better start praying because now I am the crazy one!!!!
