EZMoving AKA AAAEZ Moving Ripoff, Overcharges, Hidden Charges, Horrible Service Brooklyn New York
I moved with EZ Moving a number of years ago. I have moved 3 times in the last 8 years. They were the worst movers possible. They gave me an estimate for the move of my One bedroom apartment. I was moving 35 blocks north in Manhattan.
The day of the move they showed up in a small U-haul truck. Not an EZ moving truck. I guess they didn't have enough trucks. They then went on to box redicule items. A plant in a $15 box. A wicker lamp in a $20 box. And lots and lots of tape and I was charged for every roll.
When they went to load the truck they couldnt fit all the items and decided they needed to make TWO trips to move our one bedroom apartment 35 blocks.
When they returned to finish the move our apartment building was using the service elevator for garbage removal so they had to wait 45 minutes until they could finish the move.
When we finally got to the Apartment and the items were in they charged us double the estimate. Mostly for boxes and tape. They also didnt discount the "10 free boxes" they advertised. The move of our 1 bedroom apartment 35 blocks took from 8 am to 8 pm (12 hours). When I went to pay the bill outraged as I was the foreman suggested that if I gave them all a big tip in CASH that he could knock down the price. My gosh. I was being shaken down. I gave a minimal tip and paid the inflated bill.
I wrote the Better Business Bureau who investigated my claims. They ruled in my favor and I was reimbursed over $500. I paid only a bit more than the estimate.
Needless to say EZ Moving was the worst experience I have had with any company moving or otherwise. I would avoid this company like the plague. They are deceitful and crooked.
