Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been a "member" of ezlaptop.com for over 8 months and had gotten up to 207 "credits" and found out just yesterday (6/23/05) that it is no longer there. Screen showed up saying "No website configured at this address." (Today when I went back, there is nothing but a blank page that pulls up)

Did some checking and here is what I've come up with (if it's any help to anyone):

You know five or eight bucks by itself is nothing really, but it's the fact that we all made it a point to check that website everyday, some of us even help to get referrals and we were promised a new Sony laptop for our efforts. Call it whining if you want to but, by gosh, it IS false advertising!

This morning I contacted Pay Pal's Dispute Resolution dept and let them know about their user "ezonlineser" as I reviewed the history of my credit card transaction and found the date (10/30/2004) of the transaction with ezlaptop.com and username that I paid. Pay Pal said they would forward this info to their fraud dept. Correction on the previous update... The internet providers web address is http://www.theplanet.com not planet.com. Also, after examining some bulletin board discussions, I found out that ezlaptop.com has been involved in this scam before - from "previous ownership." I have additional info on possible registrant info, but unsure if this was the previous or current owner's info: Possible registrant info for ezlaptop Registrant: Rick Beck 7246 E. Cord Rd. Cloquet, Minnesota 55720 US Registerred through: GoDaddy.com Domain name: EZLAPTOP.COM Created on: 20-Feb-04 Expires on: 14-Jul-05 Admin/Tech Contact: Beck, Rick [email protected] 218-***-**** I have intentionally left the phone number out because if this is the previous owner's info, then it really won't help to deluge him with phone calls (he's probably already been prosecuted anyway by now.) I believe the "new owner" had alreay taken over the operation (scam) by the time I registered in Oct 2004. That's it for now. Anyone who has additional info that they would like to bestow to all of us, please post or update. Thanks Brian

Contacted Planet.com Internet Services

After filing my original complaint here, I contacted Planet.com internet services in Dallas TX (EZLaptop's provider, hoster) and was told that yes, EZLaptop was a customer, but the person I spoke with had no idea why it was not there anymore, nor would he tell me who the customer was - except that this customer put this website up for a customer of theirs. I asked what I could do at this point. He suggested to submit a complaint to [email protected] but that there was no way to talk to anyone in that dept. I asked who the CEO of The Planet was and he only said his name was Mr. Pathos. I would consider writing to him, but I'm sure if he responded at all, he'd just feed me some political garbage about it not being their responsibilty, blah, blah...
