Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Myself and My wife obtained a loan through Conseco Finance about a year ago. Conseco sold the loan to Fairbanks Capital Corporation in February of 2003.

Conseco did not contact us to let us know that the loan had been sold...but we received a welcome notice from Fairbanks Capital Corp. stating they had bought our Loan.

My wife called them arounf the 10th of February 2003 and requested that they send us some paperwork so we know that we are sending the money to the right place and have a record of the Loan Numer etc. or in other words a statement to go by.

They said they would send the paperwork. On March the 5th 2003 I received a voice mail at home on our phone with no record other than call the loan services this is emportant...no Company Name or anything so I figured I should call and see who it was and what it was about. I call they do not give a company name when answering....but it rolls through the push 1....push 2 syndrome everybody uses.

Finally I talk to I assume a loan officer? He says do you wish to make a payment by phone...and I replied no....that we have the money for the loan and are ready to make payment but wanted some substancial paperwork from your Company to verify our payments etc.

They said they would resend the papers and threatened if we do not have payment in their office by the 30th of March we would be subject to extra charges etc. and we should make payment to and gave us an address and a PO Box. I told him send me the papers and we will get you a payemnt. He stated that the paperwork would not be there by the time the payment was due.

I said if you send it out today we should get it in a couple of days and we would send the payment as soon as it arrives.

Again he trheatens we must make a paymnet. I tell my wife the great news and she calls hem back up to try to see if she can get a better respoce....the guy she talks to says they don't have to do anything amd that the loan is in fault and they are just going to go ahead and foreclose our loan.

I look up the web site to see if there is a customer service area or anyone to write to so we can make sure we are all on the right track.

The only info on the web site is a number to call...which will never get you to the right person. I then looked the compamy up on the better business Bureau...and sure enough..they have an unsatisfactory report on file...issues were never resolved. Then I decide to investigate a little further and find all kinds of bad reports on Fairbanks Capital Corp. Including some that led me here to this site.

It appears there are 1000's of complaints...and no one has done anything about it. People have been to attourney's and just about every reputable source and no sucess.

Fairbanks has been ripping off Americans on a regular babses and the complaints are too numerous to mention. We haven't been with them for a month yet and they are already speaking of foreclosure before the we get the 1st statement from them.

I think that is a bad sign...and I figure...now is the time to start dealing with Fairbanks before we get to far down the road.

Me and my wife are never late...good hard working Middle Class Americans...and don't think anyone should be mistreated.

If Fairbanks is going to be unfair....then we are going to report it. Companies that do bad business should not be allowed to rip off American families. Somthing has to be done to stop dishonesty and Mortgage Companies should be forced to comply with legal standards....no one should be allowed to over charge on rates...and no one should be threatned to loose their home if they make the payments.

They told me today we have 60 days from the stat of the loan to make the payment....and we want to pay...but we deserve a proper statment from the company....

There were not even a handshake on this deal. But from what I have seen about Fairbanks...is they are priding themselves on foreclosures and mistreating their customers from Day one.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, its paid for!
