I agree with the other rebuttal. You have no clue what is going on with this church. This is the advice I give to you. If you are truly seeking the Lord and are looking to find an awesome church, pray about your heart and what you think you see. Ask the Lord to help. Sounds to me like you are critical and jumping to a lot of conclusions about something in which, anyone who regularly attends, would know your information is far from true. The Bible says that the Devil is a liar and the father of them, he has you fooled. If you are just out to stir things up and have a hate for churches that a drawing a large crowd, well get over it! Jesus wants people saved, everyone!

The end of your rebuttal had me doing a spit-take, wherein you said: ''This is a good church, with a heart for hurting people.'' That was a great laugh... *HURTING* people.. In the name of the sum, the profit and the wholly gross, go in pieces, my child!

I have no idea which church and leadership team that Scott if referring to but it can't be Faith Family Church (pastored by Rick and Marjorie Hufton) in Shiloh IL. I know personally every member of the churches leadership team including their support staff. I have know several of the pastors, including the senior pastor and his wife for over 20 years. I have seen how they have conducted their affairs (including business dealings) in and out of the church buildings. I have commented to others on numerous occasions, that this churches leadership team is the real deal. They are men and women of high integrity and walk with Christ with great passion. They are in the ministry not for personal gain but for Kingdom gain. Scott, I will be praying for you.

I attend Faith Family Church, have now for 2 1/2 years. Your rip off report is simply your opinion. You have no facts to back up any of what you say. I agree that Joyce Meyer, Robert Tilton, etc are money grubbing evangelists (which, by the way, is called an OPINION) and I would never send any of them a dime. I have done my homework, however, and I've seen our church's financial statements (they send them out to all members that contributed ever year). This church, as well as St. Louis Family Church, pastored by Jeff Perry, whom you also slandered uses the money for the community. We have groups that go down into the E St Louis projects and provide furniture for those that need it. We also take food and sponsor picnics in those areas. We have an outreach for the women that work in the strip clubs, trying to help them to see that God loves them and has a better life for them. We sponsor missionaries all over the world. We have a benevolence fund for those that fall on hard times and need help paying the rent or buying groceries. We contribute to a home that houses troubled, addicted or pregnant teenage girls. We contribute to the Belleville Area Foodbank. I could go on and on. Pastor Jeff and STL Family Church have started their own not for profit, Service International, which goes AROUND THE WORLD with heavy equipment and volunteers to rebuild after earthquakes, wild fires, floods and wars. Additionally, this church didn't "spring up out of nowhere" as you put it. They've been around for 17 years, started in 1992 in the Ramada Inn ballroom, followed by space in Emerald Terrace. As for exchanging money for faith, you're, once again, incorrect. Pastor Huffton routinely talks about the Bible's mandate that Christians give of their time, treasure (money) and abilities. It's an act of faith to give, not an exchange for faith. In 2 1/2 years, I've NEVER heard Pastor Huffton, or any member of the church staff say that giving money will fix your problems. Our pastor teaches that as a Christian, you will experience difficuties in this life and that God will help you through them. How, exactly, do you expect churches to pay their mortgage, utilities, taxes and salaries if no one gives? As for him paying 6 figures for his home, can you show me any homes in the area (that aren't dumps) that go for less than $100,000 and will house a family with children? You make it sound like he lives in a mansion. Everyone I know lives in a house that cost at least $100,000. Have you ever even been to our church, heard our pastor's teaching, or even visited our website? You don't seem to have any information right in your posting, nor do you have any supporting information for your OPINIONS. Having said all of that, I also want to include that because of all of the false teaching and evangelists that are out there, I'm very careful about which teaching I listen to, whose books I buy, etc. I listen to people like Chuck Swindoll, Chip Ingram, David Jeremiah and Hank Hannegraaf on the radio. I also use my Bible to help me weigh the things I hear, whether from Pastor Hufton or any other teacher. No church is 100% perfect in their theology. That's why we, as Christians, have to be reading the Bible and praying daily. If I were to start hearing Word of Faith garbage or prosperity preaching coming from the pulpit, I'd find somewhere else to go. This is a good church, with a heart for hurting people.
