I am not ignorant of my rights, which is why I left, and I have filed numerous complaints with several organizations. Unfortunantly, NC is an "employment at will" state, which means, employers can be assholes if they want to. To the lady before who posted...sorry you went through so much crap.

Sounds like some more minimum wage HELL to me. I don't know why you didn't have a small tape recorder and didn't record some of these conversations because there was so much illegal stuff going here -- violations of the ADA, etc. WHY Didn't you file a complaint with the EEOC? WHY didn't you talk with an attorney who specializes in Personnel or personal injury law since they know about ADA discrimination or could refer you to someone who did? The same sort of ignorance of your rights is the same sort of ignorance found in people who are abused in minimum wage hell and keep blundering from one hell into the othre hell.... I used to be one of them.

oK, I guess I may have responded to this a little late, but I have read over all these reports dealing with Family Dollar. This one about the person with disabilities, which may have omitted some info. and I read from these ones that have been with the company for ovwer 16 years, or Still with the company, Look, all these companies like other companies are out for The MONEY, they get people to work for them like a dime in a dozen, it took, me over 15 years to realize this, I have doens Dollar General and Family Dollar. Check out the numbers on these two companies , they have the highest turn over in any Company, even over Wal-Mart!I have even heard, DM and Regional's tell Managers to fire employees for disabilities, worker comp issues, pregancies, i have seen managers do the right thing and report it in to company or outside company guess what ole reliable LP comes in and fires them, anybody out there knows this goes on, even if that area seems like a good district to work in, get real people, anyone with a DM title and up are out to get for themseles only. Of course all this in saying is (legal) my opinion..

It has nothing to do with not being able to "handle it" Julia, I found out I have a tumour, and I need to take care of myself and my family right now. Plus, I just dont care for the way the company treats it's employees. Best to you and yours Julia, I wont be responding to any more posts.

Im not the one crying over spilled milk and yes I have many enemies...Im here to work hard and to provide for my family yes at any cost as you say and not by making friends while im here nor is it by stealing and lying and not following policy. I admit their are things I would like to change about this company and there have been things I have helped to change since my employment. I operate a good clean honest store by no means am I perfect nor is any company that you work for. But I see managers such as yourself try to make excuses. It is an open door company...either you stick with it or you get out. There are several managers that may not like me...boo h*o I say. Is it because I am good at what I do and they are jealous? I don't care. I may be hard and don't have a problem telling people my opinion but Im respected in this district and so is my knowledge. There has not been a manager in this district that hasn't called and asked me for something. Wether it be my advice, problem solving, or questions about poilicy which by the way I know very well. I guess thats why im still here. Go figure. You can whine all you want bottom line is you couldn't handle the job...no crime in that. There are very few of us seasoned managers left in the district and we haven't kept our jobs by doing things the wrong way. I say what I mean and mean what I say and the ones that know me well will tell you that. I do not suger coat anything not even to upper management. I follow policies that are put in place for a reason. Its not for me to question just follow. I do wish you well in your recovery and hope the best for you and yours. Julia

managers like you are part of the problem julia, only trying to keep yourself in the game at whatever cost. You cant get ahead by running over people forever, becasue one day you will run out of people, and noone in the district can stand you right now. I know, i've talked to people about your "skills". Your right, it isnt CVS, because they at least know how to run a company. One day the shoe will be on the other foot.

I am in the same district of which you speak of and it may be said that some of what you say may or may not be true but I do know that there is more to it than that. I read alot here and like to think that people are truthful in what they see as wrong doing and such but it does bother me that I know you and I have been here 7 years as a manager and have spoke with you on numerous occasions as well as employees that have worked for you in the shelby store and have witness some of your managerial skills. I feel for you in your time of need as far as your health is concerned but you have alot to learn about being in a supervisor position. This isn't CVS.
