I had the experience to stay overnight at Best Western in Ogallala NE. Nice place.
Right behind them nearest Interstate 80 is a Shell gas station. AVOID IT!!!!
Their sign price was 3.59. Their pump price was 3.99/gal for regular. $4.27 for PLUS.
I said, "that's bogus". So, I went across the freeway to the Conoco station. Same thing.
3.59 / gal sign price. 3.99/gal for 87, 4.27 for PLUS. That's what we call a "racket".
Consumers beware. Do not gas up anywhere in Ogallala NE.
Avoid both the Shell and Conoco gas stations at Ogallala. Gas up in Sydney or further towards Omaha.
Pump prices all along the I-80 Corridor were anywhere from $3.16 - 3.27 / gallon.
They're running a racket in Ogallala. Avoid it if you can.
A complaint is shortly to be file with the NE attorney general's office regarding this matter.

"Price Gouging, Extortion, and general fraud"
I suppose they could be guilty of false advertising unless the signs indicate different pricing for cash or credit. It certainly is not price gouging because a merchant is permitted to charge whatever they want for their goods and services unless there is a civil emergency or natural disaster. You failed to address your claim of extortion.
