FCNB will ruin your credit even after they've declaired bankruptcy. Ripoff! Beaverton Oregon
Hi,
FCNB WILL ruin your credit, even after they've declared bankruptcy. Companies who go bankrupt due to BAD BUSUNESS PRACTICE should not be allowed to report to the credit reporting agencies. If there is a class action suit, please count me in.
Jan of 03 I paid off my account and closed it, except for a 39$ credit I was expecting from a mail order return. FCNB entered a late fee, then applied the credit. When I disputed this, I got no reply. They then sent me a new card, but wait - I closed this account! FCNB then began evey month, adding late fees to the original late fee (which they used as my account balance - and there really was a zero balance). I called, wrote letters, called, wrote letters and finally - miraculaously, a statement came reversing all those erroneous charges.
They had however, reported me as bad credit risk to Experian and Equifax. I attempted to get this off my record and those credit agencies stated "this has been investigated and was determined to be legitimate information." Now I am trying to refinance my home and cannot get credit because of this bankrupt, horrible company!
