Fife RV Center Bonney Lake branch Fraudulent sales tactics of pre-owned travel trailer Bonney Lake Washington
We recently purchased a pre-owned 2007 travel trailer from Fife RV center with, unknown to us, water damage. We paid $13,000 in cash plus the required $1,000 (non-refundable) PDI cost. The company refused to buy back the trailer due to the unforeseen water damage that was not found during the initial walk through. The deficiency was passed on to us as a consumer and the company stated that it was purchased in an 'as is condition'. We did not realize there was water damage until after we purchased the trailer ($13,000) plus the $1,000 required PDI cost. It remains at the Bonney Lake RV center on consignment since the purchase in May 2013. Since the purchase of the trailer there has been no effort to fix the remaining issues found during the PDI and walk through. There is no apparent effort to sell the trailer on consignment and there are no apparent customer satisfaction concerns from the sales representatives, management or even the owner, which we can never reach or contact directly. The service center at Bonney Lake attempted to correct the issue by replacing the roof, but there still remains obvious water damage in the walls and the floor. We were astonished to find out that there is no lemon law preventing such issues with travel trailers and once the RV is registered we own it even though we have not removed it from the RV Center where it remains. We found out that we do not have a legal stance to correct this situation, but it seems to us that this is no way to treat a consumer. We are hoping to bring our experiences to the attention of the public and not only boycott such practices by Fife RV Center, but to protect the consumer from such fraudulent (hidden) RV purchases. We could use some public support from the media to correct this situation and possibly prevent such oversights and fraudulent sales tactics by Fife RV Center and other RV vendors in the future.
