"If I had my way about it, overdrafting your account would be considered a criminal offense. Maybe after a warrant would be issued for their arrest, people wouldn't spend what they don't have available." Ok, let's have it your way, I'd like to point out that fifth third was one of the regional sized banks that failed their stress test. That means that they did not have enough money to cover their obligations. That means, according to your logic they should not receive TARP funds, but instead warrants should be issued for all of their management personel. "I'm so sick of these meth-addicted welfare cases overdrawing their accounts so they can score more drugs, and then blaming the bank when they incur fees. Then they hop online and file a ROR so they can whine to everyone else. " Me too, What's your excuse? "So, if you're whining about an overdraft fee on this website, you are a meth-addicted welfare case and you shouldn't even own a computer. Get a job and get sober." You hear that Fifth Third? Sell your computers, sober up and get a job. "I have spoken." Amen.

This isn't a 5/3 Bank problem. You'd have the same problem at any bank I know of. The problem is that you are trying to rely on the bank to manage your finances. They are not going to do this. The easiest thing to do is to keep an accurate check register. It doesn't take much effort and it will ensure that you never pay another overdraft fee again.
