I first noticed Fraudulent activity on my bank account in July of 2005. It started with a phone call from whatever company name they gave me, saying that I'd recieve forms in the (snail) mail and once I filled them out and returned them then they would charge my account $297. The forms were to collect money from the government and all I'd have to do is wait for my Gov issued check.

They did require checking numbers, which I did give them. But the understanding that I verified with them is that They wouldn't charge me for anything until they had filled-out forms in their hands from me. They never mailed any forms.

A week later I was charged $297. I filed for Check Fraud with my bank Washington Mutual (www.wamu.com). They came back saying it wasn't fraud "Theres nothing we can do". Frustrating, but lesson learned.

RECENTLY (dec 20 2005) I was looking at my account, still with Washington Mutual, and saw a charge for $299.00 from a check that I never wrote. I immediately called the bank and they told me it was taken out of my account by "First American Benefits Group" with phone number on the check (866) 779 9555.

I called, and quickly was talking to an American woman on the phone. I politely told her the gist of what happened and that I need that money put back into my account. I was told It would take 3 days to "gather my information". On DEC 23rd, I called again saying it had been three days, but she said they just needed some more time to gather my info, and less cheerily told me they'd call me when they have the information ready.

I'll give them until monday Dec 26th. If I don't get answers by then, I'll file the report with my bank, noting this website and the other 70+ hits that Google comes up with for '"First American benefits group" Fraud'.
